About this deal

Unwanted Food or Drink Products - Once supply conditions are broken, there are a number of factors outside of our control that can affect the quality of a product. Therefore perishable goods such as food and drink cannot be returned. Dioralyte Relief should not be administered to infants under 3 months and for those aged 3 months to 1 year under medical advice. If you are not sure if any of the above apply.to you, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Dioralyte. Prepare just before the medicine is going to.be taken. Do not make in advance. If you are giving it to a baby over the course of the day, you can keep the drink in a refrigerator for up to 24 hours. The contents of each sachet should be dissolved in 200ml (approx. 7fl oz) of drinking water. Use fresh drinking water for adults and children. For infants, and where drinking water is unavailable, the water should be freshly boiled and cooled. The solution should be made up immediately before use and may be stored for up 24 hours in a refrigerator, otherwise any solution remaining an hour after reconstitution should be discarded. The solution itself must not be boiled.

Diarrhoea should be treated under medical advice in some situations. It's important to see your doctor if you or your child: A basic principle of treatment of diarrhoea is to replace lost fluid and electrolytes and then to maintain sufficient fluid intake to replace fluid loss from stools. The amount of reconstituted Dioralyte administered should be adapted to the age and weight of the patient and the stage and severity of the condition. The doctor will calculate how much to give your baby, depending on how much they weigh. This is usually about one to one and a half times the amount of fluid your baby normally has in 24 hoursThe child taking the medicine is under 2 years old ▲ The diarrhoea has lasted for more than 24–48 hours, you may need other treatment For oral administration only. Dioralyte Relief should not be reconstituted in diluents other than water. This is a medicine; Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have an underlying medical condition, are taking any other medication or complementary therapy, or if symptoms persist. Make up the solution immediately before use and use it within one hour. If you don't use it within one hour (for instance if you're giving it to a baby over the course of the day) keep it in a fridge. It will keep for up to 24 hours in a fridge. Do not take this medicine if any of the above apply to you. If.you are not sure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Dioralyte.

Get medical advice from your doctor when treating a baby. Your doctor will work out how much to give your baby based on their body weight. No specific precautions are necessary in the elderly. However, care should be taken when administering Dioralyte Relief solution in conditions where normal electrolyte balance may be disturbed (such as severe vomiting or diarrhoea). Dissolve contents of one Dioralyte sachet in 200ml (approximately 7 fluid ounces) of drinking water. Always use exactly 200ml to dissolve the contents of each sachet. Don't use more or less water than this, as this will make the solution too strong or too weak and can upset the balance of salts in your body. For oral administration only. Dioralyte should not be reconstituted in diluents other than water. Each Sachet should always be dissolved in 200ml of water. A weaker solution than recommended will not contain the optimal glucose and electrolyte concentration and a stronger solution than recommended may give rise to electrolyte imbalance. If diarrhoea persists for longer than 24-48 hours the patient should be seen by a physician. Dioralyte should not be used for the self treatment of chronic or persistent diarrhoea except under medical supervision. Dioralyte shall not be used for treatment in infants below the age of 24 months without medical supervision. Infants under the age of 2 years with diarrhoea should be seen by a physician as soon as possible. No specific precautions are necessary in the elderly.Adults (including the elderly): One or two sachets after every loose motion. Each sachet should be dissolved in 200ml of water. Seek advice before using if you are breast feeding, pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or suffer from allergies. Diluted apple juice has been reported to be a potential alternative to electrolyte maintenance fluids in children with mild gastroenteritis and minimal dehydration.

If nausea and vomiting are present with the diarrhoea, small but frequent amounts should be drunk at first. Adults (including elderly): (20-40 ml/kg) One or two sachets after every loose motion (each sachet dissolved in 200ml of water). If you are breast feeding, continue to feed normally. Your baby may need less breast milk so you may need to express some of your milk If you are breast feeding, continue to feed normally.
