About this deal

Heating cannabis activates the compounds contained within it. It turns acidic compounds like tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA) into THC, along with a variety of other cannabinoids. The term decarboxylation refers to the chemical reaction that removes a carboxyl (COOH) group from THC-A and CBD-A. Carbon dioxide is released as a by-product of this reaction. To decarboxylate marijuana, all you have to do is apply heat. But how much heat is necessary? Or in other words, at what temperature does marijuana decarboxylate?

What's actually happening under the hood? The cannabinoid acids in raw weed have an extra molecule of CO₂ attached. This is also known to chemists as a carboxyl group (hence the term de- carboxyl-ation). Applying enough heat causes this extra CO₂ molecule to be released, leaving behind the active cannabinoids we know and love (along with some excess CO₂ gas). How to decarboxylate cannabis buds in your oven Of course, every time you light up a joint or vaporize your weed, you are automatically decarbing it. In the absence of its carboxyl group, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) can bind to the body’s cell receptors. But what about cannabidiol – does CBD need to be decarboxylated? Why You Need to Decarboxylate CBD Strains STREAMLINED AND EFFICIENT DESIGN – Unlike oven temperatures that can vary and lead to wasted or “weak” botanicals our smart decarboxylator system ensures more precise temperatures to retain valuable nutrients. Nebula Boost Decarboxylator & Infuser – For Herb Activation & Infusion of Butter & Oils. Simple Operation, Includes Mess Free Container & Updated Lid Design Nonetheless, if you find yourself motivated to do things ‘the old fashioned way, you can still decarboxylate Cannabis by following these basic steps:Though you can, it's not recommended to decarb weed in a microwave or on a stovetop, as these methods can lead to uneven heating and may destroy cannabinoids and terpenes in the process. An oven provides the most consistent and controlled heating environment for decarboxylation. Can I decarb weed using a sous vide method? OPTIMAL BOTANICAL FORMULATION – The Nebula Decarboxylator lets you customize time and temperature when infusing herbs and botanicals to provide enhanced control and regulation throughout the entire cycle. The great thing about this method is its ease of use – just put your weed in the container, push the button and return in 2 hour’s time to find your weed fully decarboxylated! Below, find out how decarboxylation works, why it's important, and tips for consumers with both high and low tolerances.

The baking sheet method is one of the simplest and easiest, but it can stink up your kitchen for days. Introducing just a couple extra pieces of equipment could save you some cleaning and preserve your relationship with your roommate! Ingredients Cannabis tinctures typically fall to the wayside in a world of BHO and supercritical CO₂ extraction. However, this ancient method of extraction remains the easiest way to make your own potent... The Lift is basically a small portable oven, that heats up herb to a very specific temperature, for a specific amount of time. This process is called ‘decarboxylation’. But, the unit can take a bit longer to complete the cycle than other units in the same class; in some cases, up to 2 hours. Raw cannabis is plant matter that has not been dried or cured. Once cured, a small amount of decarboxylation occurs. The rest takes place when the plant material is heated – or combusted – to temperatures above 200 degrees Fahrenheit. The Ardent FX is 220v and suitable for only UK/EUROPEAN countries and will NOT work in the US/CANADA. What ForbiddenFruitz Say: After 20 minutes, the cannabis should be golden brown. Carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven. Step 8: Cool

Once the cook is complete, remove your weed from the oven – you should notice its now browner, smells a bit toasty and may have lost a bit of volume. These are all normal signs of decarboxylation. Your weed has now been decarboxylated and is ready to use in cooking recipes.

It’s so easy to use a child could do it. Put your herb in, hit a button, then leave it alone until done. It couldn’t be simpler. It certainly makes the cannabinoids in hemp more effective, and we can assume the same for cannabis. So, we know that decarbing weed requires two key elements: heat and time. The hotter the temperature, the less time required. For example, to convert THCA into THC, you’ll need to expose your cannabis to temperatures of around 105–116°C for 30–45 minutes.

If you elect to use nugs, grind them coarsely before following these steps. In the following example, we used 40 grams of flower to produce coconut canna-oil. Step 1: Preheat the oven: Even though raw (carboxylated) cannabis possesses nutritional benefits, it is entirely non-intoxicating. In other words, it will not produce a high. To get the full effects of marijuana, it has to be heated – or decarboxylated. Decarbing weed converts the non-psychoactive THCA in cannabis into psychoactive THC, making the cannabis more potent for use in edibles, tinctures, and other non-smoking consumption methods. What temperature should I use to decarb weed? The machine also outlines timing-related with the four different temperature settings to accommodate the product that you are planning to make:Nowadays, this old school method is well – old school. If you’re after something optimal, you’re going to need a specific decarb device. For added precision, you can invest in a sous vide immersion circulator, which is a device that heats water and circulates it around the pot to maintain precise and even temperatures. It looks a bit like an immersion blender. This may be beneficial if you plan on frequently decarbing larger amounts of cannabis. Ingredients Temperature and time:Decarboxylation requires specific temperatures and durations for optimal results. Generally, you expose cannabis to temperatures between 200 - 290°F (104 - 118°C). The process can take between 7 - 60 minutes depending on the temperature. Lower temperatures require more time, while higher temperatures speed up the process. Expect that to change very soon. It’s also known as the Nova, but that version is geared toward cannabis users only. The Lift works in precisely the same way but it marketed toward states and countries with less lenient cannabis policies – in brief, they substitute the word ‘cannabis’ for ‘herb’. But enough of the legalities, who is the Lift for and what does it do? This is because decarboxylation is not a linear process, as the last part of the THC-A to THC conversion process takes longer. When you use boiling water, the weed is exposed to heat for too long, causing degradation.
