About this deal

But the folks at Achedaway knew this and added a lanyard. It’s a simple yet effective way of securing the device when it’s in use. In case you need extra leeway, there’s an extension cord that can make it even longer. Blood flow restriction (BFR) training is a kind of training that requires a specialized tourniquet system placed around a limb during exercise to decrease blood flow. This is to safely restrict the flow of venous blood while the arterial blood still supplies to the limbs, which helps increase metabolic stress and cellular swelling. The tourniquet can be wrapped around any of your limbs; it could be around the arms directly under the shoulder or around the legs just below the hip. Not only it has such a high stall force, the amplitude is impressive as well, punching up to 16mm deep – yes, exactly the same as the mighty Theragun Pro.

But the dynamic pressure isn’t complete without the 5 pre-programmed modes. These are the rhythmic alterations of suction and release in different combinations and pressure increments. Depending on the level you want, you can easily control the suction intensity by pressing the suction button a few times. You can also use the app (we’ll talk about it in a few) to change the intensity. The red color bars will indicate which level you’re at. Cupping traces you will get when using Achedaway Cupper. The Achedaway Cupper not only employs the dynamic cupping method, but it takes this technique a notch higher. It looks and feels like a premium quality product. The build quality is perfect, and the quality of materials used is high as well. The material used is plastic, but we like this kind of plastic. It looks like it’s going to last a while. Overall it’s the perfect gun if you are looking for a deep penetrative massage. 16mm is as punchy as it gets. Amplitude? The longest in the business – 16mm.

BFR training helps with recovery, especially from a tough workout or injury to any part of the body. In a recent PubMed study on the effect on the impact of BFR on muscle fatigue development and recovery, it was established that despite the high level of muscle fatigue during BFR exercise, the effect of BFR on muscle fatigue was diminished after 2 min of reperfusion. This shows that BFR has a strong but short-lasting effect on neuromuscular function and helps with recovery. The suction draws skin, fascia, and muscles up into the cup and provides improved blood circulation (1) as well as relieving pain. Traditional cupping therapy. The blood flow restriction training might be the next fitness trend with lots of promising benefits, some of which are explained below. It does however, transfer the vibrations to the handle which makes our case for a rubber handle. The Achedaway Pro is really quiet for such a large and powerful massage gun.

BFR training is now known as an alternative method to improve muscle endurance. There is a limited flow of oxygen to the muscles during this form of training, which makes the slow-twitch Type I muscle fibers less active than normal. To make up for this, the Type II, anaerobic muscle fibers are activated. Usually, this happens with high-intensity training but with restricted blood flow, you can get the same result, which helps you build muscle endurance. This device has 16 speed levels! That’s a lot. We don’t recommend anything that has higher than 6 speeds because it’s just too daunting trying to get to the right setting. However, we’ll turn a blind eye to it because the gun has a wide enough range to justify those additional gears. Finally, it’s time for Achedaway Pro vs Hypervolt comparison. The only member of the Hypervolt family that even comes close to rivaling the Achedaway Pro is the more advanced Hypervolt 2 Pro. That explains our inclusion of the Ekrin B37S which has a shorter amplitude but a greater stall force. Where it fails in amplitude, it delivers in stall force and hits per minute. Battery capacity and quality: Generally, you should be able to use a massage gun for at least 2 hours on high intensity after a full charge. Branded batteries also give a hint on the quality of a massage gun.

Another technique employed by this method is affixing several cups across desired spots and then letting the patient go through a series of movements or certain sport-specific movements. This creates a suction effect due to the cooling air inside the cup. However, the flames do not get close to the patient’s skin. But with technology and new methods, pressure valves are used instead to create a similar suction effect. Pro has a better stall force (as advertised: Pro 80lbs. Achedaway 50lbs.). Even though it doesn’t hit 80lbs. (as we confirmed) it’s still more powerful at 60-65lbs.

If you have been drooling over the Theragun Pro but the hefty price tag is a turnoff, then this gun is just as premium-grade but cheaper. On the other hand, both the Hypervolt and Theragun offer a mobile app and Bluetooth connectivity, which can be really useful, especially for beginners. Plus, the fact that they are premium brands matters to some people. More advertised stall force (80lbs. on paper compared to Theragun’s 60lbs.). In reality though they’re about the same.Improved blood flow (1): The suction that happens as the cups are glided over the affected area increases blood flow. This means that oxygen and essential nutrients can travel to the pain areas and repair the damaged tissues. The stall force is the amount of pressure needed to stop the massage gun from revving. Often this happens when you press the head on to your body.

I haven't tried any competitive smart cupping devices or real cupping with fire, but have had cupping done with silicone cups at the physical therapist office. This is definitely more intense (in a good way) than the cupping with the silicone cups. High-amplitude devices, such as Theragun, Bob and Brad D6 and Achedaway Pro tend to rev slower but offer deeper hits. Devices like Ekrin B37s offer more intensity (faster percussions) but don’t hit as deep. Both approaches are equally effective. We love the device, it’s absolutely worth it – but we’d love to see some little improvements in the future. The Theragun Pro probably takes an early lead with its rectangular shape and feels slightly more ergonomic. The Achedaway Pro is more power-drill than perfect massage gun. Achedaway Pro and Theragun Pro side-by-side.

Stroke Length is best in business. 16mm is on par with Theragun, and slightly better than in Hypervolt Plus – another well-known device.
