About this deal

The ‘Sprag clutch’ or one way bearing has also been known to fail occasionally. ***This issue has been rectified with the latest ‘B’ model. Motor type - Mid-drive motors have a higher capacity for hill climbing while hub motors (which are inefficient on hills) work well on flat, consistent terrain.

Now : The reduction gear kit is all in one which is not able to divide. Then there’s no one way needle bearing anymore.intuitívabb pedálrásegítő érzés – egyesek szerint ez közelebb hozza a motor érzetét a drágákéhoz Bosch rendszer.

Also because the pedal sensing is built into the motor unit and it is sensing the torque you put in through the pedals, it is very good at identifying when you need that assistance and blending it in smoothly. Something you don’t get with a standard pedal sensor which generally is either off or on. Value and ConclusionsThe built quality of the Tongsheng TSDZ2 system can be called excellent. The motor and controller are housed in a nice metal housing that feels sturdy. All the connectors used on the motor are of the waterproof type, which is excellent as well. The chainring and chainring cover are also constructed really nicely. I would say that that part feels even more high quality than its Bafang counterpart. Another advantage to a mid drive unit is, because the kit drives the chain rather than the wheels directly, it means your gears work with the motor. So, when you are in first gear, you get the most torque which is of course when you need it. As you move up the gears the assistance becomes less pronounced. The option to be able to use different displays. For example the KT-LCD3 is commonly used, as is the colour Bafang P850c display. d)The fewer gears in the rear cassette the better. The motor is so powerful you tend to forget to change gears and only use the higher half even on big hills You need some space on the handlebars to install the LCD and the thumb throttle if you buy our TSDZ2T.

There is a lot of 'iffy' info out on the TSDZ2 around the internet. We have done THOROUGH testing ourselves, and have been in touch directly with the manufacturer to get to the bottom of it. We have software programming capabilities for the controller itself, not just hardware repair/replacement capabilities. There is an ongoing 'thread' on a very informative forum 'endless-sphere' which you could go to for information. Of course, I would be happy to answer any questions as well!

Kits are not the same as bikes, which are supplied as complete items needing little or no intervention by the customer. This Tongsheng TSDZ2 review is based on my experience installing over 30 of these motor kits on bikes as diverse as road bikes, mountain bikes and recumbents. Find out more about my electric bike conversion service. Another problem commonly encountered is the modern MTB boost rear hub spacing which is 148mm as opposed to the old standard of 135mm or 142mm. This is to accommodate the wider tyres used on newer mountain bikes, but it means installing the motor could be very problematic. Fixing the TSDZ2 for this Whyte was challenging, but worth the end result! This motor is newer to the market, and has not had as much publicity as the BBS series. The main difference, is that the BBS series assist works with 'speed sensing', or merely relies on a sensor that is tripped by a series of magnets that spin around when you pedal. HOWEVER, the TSDZ series motors are activated by a 'smart, dual sided torque sensing mechanism', which also has multiple assist levels. This makes for a true 'SUPERHUMAN FEEL', because the torque sensor can tell how hard you are pushing, and signals through the controller to the motor to provide corresponding level of assist! This is a GREAT feeling, and usually only available on much higher end ebikes. The only problem with most higher end mid-drive torque assist ebikes, is that they are not usually over 350w, or 500w max. - UNTIL NOW!
