Magnet Mascara, Benefit made the opening of its tube slightly smaller than necessary so that it scrapes away all the excess product from the brush as it's being pulled out. Lashes look long and lifted; Benefit did an instrumental test on 21 women and the results were that lashes looked 40% longer! When applied, you can barely feel the lightweight formula, which is why lashes stay lifted all day long. Designed to fan out lashes, add volume, and “multiply the look of lashes”, this new mascara uses what Benefit calls its Full-Flex Fiber Brush. This brush has a 40-degree curve engineered to lift the roots and cover all lashes. Even those in the corners.

We didn’t think that another Benefit mascara, or any mascara for that matter, could rival the Roller Lash and while it fell slightly short, the new Benefit Fan Fest very nearly managed it. It provided unrivalled volume whilst also adding length and we found one coat was enough, but it was still possible to add a second coat.It features a plastic curved wand that was super easy to get right down to the roots. It really only needs one coat but it still layered well for high-drama, evening looks. Many people find the original they’re Real! Mascara hard to remove. However, it’s all about the formula you use to take it off. Benefit has a dedicated they’re Real! Remover if you’d like to stay within the range or I’d recommend a bi-phase eye makeup remover. A bi-phase formula combines two phases of oil and water mixed, which lift away stubborn, long-wear makeup without pulling or tugging. One of my favourites is La Roche-Posay Respectissime. When it comes to mascara, I look for something lengthening, curling and that doesn’t smudge throughout the day. During our month-long, Benefit mascara tests, there was a very clear winner and that was Roller Lash. What’s more, this mascara can help improve your natural lashes thanks to the addition of provitamin B5, cranberry extract, and rice wax which nourishes and helps define and separate the lashes.
