About this deal

Vincent Tabak, a 33-year-old engineer and Joanna's neighbour, was found guilty of murdering Joanna Yeates by a jury in October 2011. Joanna's boyfriend Greg Reardon has since returned to the office where he used to work with his girlfriend and has bought another flat in Bristol. He raised a large amount of money for the charity Missing People and supports their campaign Join the Search. A body frozen in the freak blizzard near Bebe’s home threatens more than her return to show business. Bebe is a suspect. Can she help solve the mystery before it’s too late? I stayed up well past bedtime finishing this, and didn’t guess whodunnit it until shortly before the reveal. Things were wrapped up satisfactorily although I would’ve liked to know what happened to the dog... The next book is published in July so not too long to wait to find out what happens to poor overworked Craig next!

This delightful and sometimes comical whodunit will keep you guessing to the very end. We get to know the players who reside in this cozy hamlet when a huge snowstorm hits, and the normally unfriendly among each other neighbors come together when in need of the necessities of a power outage such as - food, heat, and sometimes just for company. Greg believed that he and Joanna would have gone on to be eventually married and was left distraught watching Vincent's trial in 2011. Following an investigation conducted by Avon and Somerset Police, Yeates’ neighbour 32-year-old Vincent Tabak was arrested and later convicted for her murder in October 2011. A new Channel 5 docuseries, Body in the Snow: The Murder of Joanna Yeates, will follow the investigation in detail, focusing on how Tabak was brought to justice. But where is Joanna Yeates’ killer now? After a mass appeal for her whereabouts, Joanna's body was discovered on Christmas day in North Somerset where a post-mortem exam determined that she had been strangled. Who killed Joanna Yeates?Tabak was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 20 years on the grounds that he was found guilty of murder.

Tabak is currently serving a minimum sentence of 20 years for the murder of Yeates, which is being carried out at HM Prison Wakefield according to the Express. And Marston York is one of my favorite readers. He can handle a variety of accents...in one instance a mix of Persian, Afghani and Birmingham...I have no idea if he got it right, but it sounded sufficiently unique. A couple of detectives who tend to shirk their duties add to the problems. Gillard must keep on top of them. My only regret was that the story finished; I hope the author does create a series (as indicated by the title). As someone who has read the previous book in this series, I was unnerved by the mentions of a particular character and look forward to seeing if this person plays a role in what looks like an excellent fifth installment, my appetite being whetted by the inclusion of an extract at the end of this book. Figuring out the puzzle in a mystery is always a lot of fun and has the added perk of exercising the brain. This is the second Craig Gillard book I have read in this series and it didn't disappoint. The ending to the previous novel indicated changes in his private life which could only add to the stresses of everything else he was involved in. This was continued with just enough storytime to show it would continue into at least the next inslment, the first chapter of which is included at the end of this story and begins immediately this book finishes.

I have read books by Christoph Fischer but this was something in a new genre for him. It was an enjoyable romp with outrageous characters, humorous situations, and murder in the middle of all this. The story moves along at a nice pace keeping the reader wondering who did what. His private life is a theme through the book. Sam is pregnant. His Aunt – what a piece of work! – lives across the road. Weird things are happening and Sam wants to sell up, Craig agrees but is immersed in his investigation which is not going too smoothly. This thread is a little creepy and ultimately very tragic for the couple. An adroit, fine read in what is a story worth reading from an accomplished author. It’s a good series of which I have read previous books and would recommend. Since the business was a family business, there are jealousies and rivalries that play into the police's considerations. While the family seems so bereft, DCI Craig Gillard is not sure that he is buying it.
