About this deal

I’m used to smooth fruit bars but these Costco fruit bars have chunks in them, I’m not a fan of the extra chunks, they just make the texture odd. I enjoy the taste and flavor of the mango bar but “that’s it” for these. Costco That’s It Mini Fruit Bars Cost Make Ahead & Freezing Instructions: You can refrigerate the cooled bars before cutting into squares, see step 6. Baked and cooled bars freeze well up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator and bring to room temperature, if desired, before serving. Make the crust: Whisk the flour, 1 cup (85g) oats, brown sugar, baking powder, lemon zest, cinnamon, and salt together in a medium bowl. Add the melted butter and stir until the mixture resembles moist crumbly sand and no dry spots remain. You will have a little more than 3 cups of crust mixture, or about 520g. Press 2/3 of the mixture (about 2 cups/345g—doesn’t have to be exact) into the prepared baking pan. Press it into the pan with your hands, a large spoon or spatula, or the bottom of a measuring cup to form a crust. Bake for 10 minutes, and then remove from the oven to slightly cool.

The products are currently dubbed “all-natural” but the founder/CEO Lior Lewensztain says that they plan on becoming completely and officially organic in 2017. That’s It Fruit Bars Review When your fruit is cooled, put it in a food processor or powerful blender and chop and mix ‘em up. Add a little bit of water to help the fruit bind if need be. By a little, I really mean a little. Less than a teaspoon. You can play around with how long to process for depending on how smooth you want your bars to be. I’m reviewing the That’s It Mini Fruit Bars from Costco today! These fruit bars caught my eye because of the name “That’s it”. I figure a name like that meant they had to have only a few ingredients and be pretty healthy. There's nothing "natural" about a processed bar, although at least there are no artificial colors, flavorings, or preservatives. But apples don't contain these things either. They should call the bar "That's Less Than It" All of the That’s It products are certified gluten-free and suitable for gluten-intolerant or celiac eaters. That’s it bars are made with only fruit. Depending on the flavour, That’s it bars contain one small apple, and a small amount of berries, cherries, or mango. My favorite wound up being the Apple+Pear+Ginger bar. I was a huge fan of the pear bar by itself, but I don't always do well with ginger. However, the ginger was just subtle enough as to where I could still taste it but it wasn't overwhelming. Now I know why ginger and pear are so commonly paired together. Bite-Sized Goodness Baking Powder: Baking powder keeps the crust/crumble on the lighter side. Without it, the texture would be a little too hard and dense. Make the filling: Place the blueberries, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice in a saucepan over medium heat on the stove and stir gently to combine. Cook and stir for 2–3 minutes until the cornstarch and sugar begin to dissolve and the berries look evenly wet. Remove from heat and stir in the lemon zest.

Bake for about 45–55 minutes, or until the top is lightly browned and the blueberry filling is bubbling around the edges. Given that the manufacturing process is proprietary, That's It Nutrition won't want to disclose details via public court filings that could show rivals how it makes its products, he said. Update in 2023: This recipe used to call for 3 cups (about 525g) of blueberries in the filling, and 1 peeled and sliced apple. To make the blueberry apple version, follow the recipe instructions above through step 3. After spreading blueberry filling onto the warm crust in step 4, top evenly with sliced apple, and then sprinkle remaining crumble mixture on top. Continue with the recipe as written.

A couple things - first, fruits that are dried for storage are not always dried hard - they can contain a fair bit of moisture, softness, flexibility while still being dry enough to be shelf-stable, especially if stored in a well sealed bag or container. Note: the nutrition facts below reflect the Apple + Blueberries flavoured That’s it bar. The range of nutrition information for all flavours is listed in parentheses. See our That’s It Bar Nutrition Facts Comparison Chart for details. Veggie Straws are made from potatoes and are fried just like traditional potato chips. However, compared to traditional potato chips, Veggie Straws are lower in fat. They also use better quality oil than the leading chip brands which typically use corn oil and soybean oil.
