About this deal

Either an additional important element that took place further in the past than Card 2, or a clarification that provides extra detail about Card 2

The Tower, sometimes called the Divergent Cross, is used when one is examining multiple possible futures derived from multiple past events. This layout is the easiest one to make seem prophetic, because Tarokka cards are vague anyway, and 3 possible outcomes lets you be even more gleefully vague than a horoscope. Four of Glyphs (Shepherd): Can be used to alert players that someone needs urgent help "bearing a burden too big for them." Sample Readings Broken One (King of Diamonds) or Innocent (Queen of Hearts) Sergei’s Tomb - I love the narrative resonance of defeating Strahd in his brother’s tomb when his envy for his brother resulted in that brother’s death and, in many ways, Barovia as a Domain of Dread.locations in Castle Ravenloft don't actually refer to the castle ("We know it's in a crypt. Do we know where a crypt is?"), but Eva can add something about "beneath the Devil's tower" or glance nervously in its direction. Cards 6, 7, and 8 talk of the past that led to this point. 6 tells of how she was faced with an unexpected supernatural threat (Victor assaulting her with his mind-effecting magic), 7 speaks of the one who refused to protect her (her Mother, ignoring Stella's pleas and degrading mental state), and 8 speaks of her imprisonment after her mind finally broke. Seer: Warn your players that they need to be clever about whatever is coming. Brute Force likely won't go well The presence of a spy or a minion of some greater power; an encounter with a puppet or an underling Cards 4, 5, 6, and 7 represent distinct details or events of the past that contribute to the coming flow of events. Unlike the Tower, each of these cards is considered separately as a distinct happening. Cards 4 and 5 generally speak of Evil that has happened in the past, while 6 and 7 often represent good things from the past. These 4 cards should represent the events that have set the current 'flow of events' into motion

Refers to a (possible) future of the subject. This card is always subject to speculation as the future is not set in stone. It generally refers to an impending threat or event, rather than speaking of an 'outcome.'A single, powerful individual of an evil nature, one whose goals have enormous and far-reaching consequences
