About this deal

On the positive side, it’s a lot less expensive than the all metal, Park Tool bench mounts (see below). The 360° rotating head is very easy to adjust. And the 1 - 2.55" (25 - 65mm) clamp jaws will accommodate a wide range a frame sizes. You can compare the max loads, max and min height, and weights of a load of bike stands in the tables below. I’m going to divide those looking for a bike repair stand into two distinct groups: weekend and daily mechanics. So I would say, if you want something that’s a significant upgrade on the Bike Hand stand, in all respects, you probably need to spend twice as much. Take advantage of overhead storage. Overhead storage systems are great for storing large items that don’t need to be accessed often.

If you're looking for a wall mounted bike clamp, then you should avoid the DNC (also marketed as Clothink) mounts. Or any of the (many) look-alikes. They're just not strong enough to support a bicycle properly. The Topeak Dual-Touch Bike Stand mounts by pushing against the ceiling and floor and it fits multiple bikes. As with the Saris solution, you might get a surprise if you try and fit multiple bikes in a standard room. If you've got a bit more space though, you can go up to four bikes. It takes up minimal space, with the bikes parallel to the wall and protruding just over a foot. Plus, the holding hooks can be placed at any height, so you can easily fit different sizes of bikes. Locate a suitable location on the ceiling. Make sure the area is free of electrical wiring and other obstructions. The hoist is made of durable, weather-resistant materials, and the rope is made from a durable nylon rope with a 125-pound capacity to handle almost any bike. It also has a pulley system for easier lifting, and the rope is adjustable to fit any height. The hoist is easy to use and is a great way to store bikes and provide easy access when needed.

Like all the repair stands at this price point, there are a lot of plastic parts (where more expensive stands use metal). And this raises questions about it’s durability over time. So how good is it? Well, The Bike Hand bench mount has pretty much the same advantages and disadvantages as the YC-100BH floor stand, to be honest.

There’s a huge variety of bike stands to choose from, ranging from the unbelievably cheap to the eye watering expensive. Using a spirit level, measure the desired height on the wall and create a horizontal line with a pencil. Take a ruler and draw a straight line along the length of the wall. Ensure that the line is level with the spirit level and adjust accordingly. Concrete anchor/ wedge. The easiest long-term fixing method for concrete is a standard concrete anchor like a Dyna bolt or a Trubolt that works like a self-tightening wedge. A wedge anchor has 4 parts, mainly the anchor body, expansion clip, nut, and washer. The anchor gets its name from how it remains “wedged” in concrete once fastened. If you are asking about storing expensive bikes you are clearly worried about damaging your pride and joy. We understand nice bikes with nice wheels, and just how annoying a scratch can be. Invest in clear plastic bins. These are great for storing small items like nuts and bolts and bulkier items like sporting gear.

So if you have a suitable post or wall (only into the stud on a dry wall!), then this could be a cost effective alternative to the workbench model. Do bear in mind that it won’t be height adjustable though, so it won’t be quite as versatile. The Worst Bike Stands They’re compatible with every type of bike. You have multiple places you can attach your bike. And you don’t have to keep taking your wheel on and off every time you want to test your work!
