About this deal

With these Night Vision Goggles, kids will discover a different world at night! Light-weight and hands-free, they’re the perfect accessory for exciting missions and adventures! The blue-tinted lenses and bright LED light beams, offer a good view of one’s surroundings in the dim and dark. Kids can even concentrate their night vision with the flip-out scope and 2X magnifying lens. There are of course some items that do not come with the set, however they are easy to get a hold of by visiting a local chemist and a supermarket. You may find though you have many of the items already at home in your cupboards. There are over 80 safety-tested, themed experiments to do and they are all clearly planned and set out within the detailed instruction manual. There are a total of 13 chapters. It covers soluble & insoluble substances, invisible inks, crystal chemistry, paper chromatography, acids & alkalis, chemical reactions of acids & alkalis, other chemical reactions, heating substances, the chemistry of some gases, iodine chemistry, sugar chemistry, distinguishing fibres and textile dyes. At the end of the instructions, it explains the results of your experiments on how they should be and why. After E had finished clearing everything away, we sat down together to talk about her experience. E told me she really enjoyed the experiment and although it was disappointing that the smaller shaped crystals had not worked this time, she wanted to try again. I explained to her that sometimes experiments don’t work as you had hoped but this is part of the process. You simply try again and make adjustments, for example maybe she needed to remove them sooner from the container or maybe they needed topping up with solution after a day or two. It could simply be that where they were left to evaporate was too warm or cold. But that’s the joy of science, it’s trail and error. E is now trying to decide which crystal growing experiment to do next. She wants to leave it until half term to do so she will be able to keep a closer eye on things. I’m pleased she is keen to try again and I am looking forward to seeing what experiment she trys next. Your details will be passed to Science Mad, but will not be passed onto any third parties by ET Speaks From Home.
