We don't have the SRS where I live but I have owned a Critter Nation, which is an almost identical cage. Based on cubic footage, it looks like the SRS is almost twice the size of the Little Friends cage so even split in half, you'll still be spoiling your little bubs. It's a bit wider so you may need to put it against the other wall or it may jut out a tiny bit into the doorway. Separable levels: having a number of different levels in a rat cage help ensure your pet has plenty of space to run, rest and climb, helping to keep it both physically and mentally stimulated. This is also ideal if you have different pets living together, as you can separate pets when necessary. These are also easy to clean as you can simply move the pets between compartments so that each section can be cleaned. The critter nation cage has a sturdy steel square tube frame and strong metal mesh wire panels, and it’s painted with a durable gray hammer tone paint. The cage also sits on sturdy caster wheels that make it easy to move around on any type of flooring. The critter nation cage also has a built-in storage shelf on the lower level, which you won’t get with the Savic Royal Suite. Alongside hay, we feed a daily handful of dried or fresh forage (leaves, herbs, flowers, roots, bark, branches). They're very heavy cages and, in my opinion, a pain to deep clean. They're such large cages that it's really difficult to move them around when you want to clean them. They have wheels but it's generally not possible to roll them outside to clean. The Royal Suites are assembled with screws so they're not very simple to take apart. Also, the cages are made up of a bunch of hollow metal tubes and has a bajillion tiny little connection points. If these cages are ever hosed down, moisture can get trapped in the cage easily and cause rust over time. You pretty much just have to clean them where they sit.

Wheels: some of our larger rat cages are on rollers, which make them particularly easy to move around and are perfect for providing your rat with lots of exciting environments! These are used by our partners to deliver commision-based marketing and relevant advertising to you. The cage comes with a full-size shallow plastic pan for the floor of each unit. The pan for the upper unit has a notched corner that lines up with the opening to the lower unit. You can either rotate that upper pan 180 degrees to cover the opening in the grate then use a tile or something to cover the notch in the pan, or you can take the lower level floor pan (without the notch) and use it in the upper level to fully cover the floor. I believe the built-in scatter guards would prevent toes and tails from hanging out of the cage enough to keep them from being nibbled by mischief makers below.There is something to meet every need as a rat owner, with rat cages made from a range of different materials and in a range of styles and sizes. Metal or wood: we have rat cages in several materials, including natural wooden cages with seesaws and dens! In most cases, you’ll only be able to find the Savic Royal Suite for sale in Europe and the U.K. That’s because the Savic Royal Suite is made by a Belgian company that doesn’t have the same global reach as the MidWest Cage Company. Pellets should only form a small part of the diet and should be viewed as a supplement, rather than a main food. Too many pellets can lead to obesity and serious dental issues as the degus fill up on these, neglecting the all-important hay. We feed only around 1 tablespoon of pellets per day, alongside a mixture of forage (with hay available 24/7). Pellets containing grains and cereals should be avoided – grass/hay based pellets are best (not alfalfa!) – our favourite brands are Rosewood Naturals Meadow Menu, BunnyNature (available in the UK via Haybox) and Versele Laga. The Savic Royal Suite has deep removable trays that are lightweight, which makes them very easy-to-clean. The 1.37-inch (3.5cm ) deep trays can hold more bedding than the critter nation cage, and the cage also has a built-in 4-inch (10cm) spray protector that will keep food, litter, and debris inside the cage and off your floors.

The Savic Royal Suite is also constructed using a square steel frame with wire mesh panels just like the Critter Nation Cage. Also, the cage is painted with a gray hammer tone finish that resists scratches, and the hammer tone finish makes it easy-to-clean. The only downside to the Savic Royal Suite is that the build quality isn’t as good as the Critter Nation Cage. For example, the door panels on the Savic Royal suite don’t always align properly, and in some cases, the door handles can loosen over time.
