Ahead of their ‘Nowhere’ 30th anniversary UK tour starting 20th April, Ride have announced the details of the reissues of their early classic albums via Wichita Recordings. These will be released on the 4th November and will include the first four EPs ( 'Ride, 'Play', 'Fall', and 'Today Forever'), plus their seminal 1990 debut ‘Nowhere’, and feted 1992 album ‘Going Blank Again’ from their days on Creation Records. All the original audio has been reworked and refined, the reissues will be available on vinyl and CD. Ride's co-frontman, guitarist and songwriter Andy Bell had the following to say about the imminent Nowhere 30 tour and reissues: The band's first two albums, Nowhere (1990) and Going Blank Again (1992), have been critically acclaimed as two of the greatest shoegaze albums of all time. [2] [3] [4] [5] The latter's lead single, " Leave Them All Behind", was the band's most commercially successful song, reaching No. 9 on the UK Singles Chart. Both Going Blank Again and its 1994 follow-up, Carnival of Light, peaked at No. 5 on the UK Albums Chart.

Nowhere was re-released in November 2022 by Wichita recordings. All the original audio reworked and refined, the reissue made available on vinyl and CD. We made a demo of this one in a real studio, and that’s how we found the producer for the album. There was an EMI studio in London we went to with this new song, and the house engineer, who was our age, was the guy they supplied to do it for that day. We got on so well with him that at the end of the day we decided to ask him to produce the album. That was a guy called Marc Waterman, and he’s gone on to produce loads of bands now. We really loved that version, and it had a really long, stretched-out, slightly Cure-esque feel. Song-wise, it’s a happy song. It’s about going to Reading festival – before it was Reading and Leeds, in the late 80s when they had really good bills. Me, Mark and Loz went together and saw Spacemen 3, the Valentines, House Of Love – loads of our favourites. It would have been the summer of 1989. That would have fallen into the period when I was beginning ideas for lyrics, so I wrote down some ideas from that. It’s about lying in the sun with your mates having a good time – just a happy day.“ There's really no frills to how Ride present themselves on stage; the band makes it clear that their performance is all about the music. Don't expect drama, don't expect fog machines or pyrotechnics. When you're as great as Ride, the music and performance stands on its own merit.
