About this deal

The provided video instructional works to give you an idea of how to install the dash camera. However, I found in my 2022 Polestar 2 a slightly more simplified way to go about installation. In the video, it shows to remove part A(see picture below) first. I found that simply removing part B was sufficient enough to expose the required plug.

Design is core to Polestar’s brand identity. Parts of the Polestar 2 car will look familiar to its Volvo parent car, particularly in the “Hammer of Thor” headlight fittings as well as the steering wheel and digital dash cluster. But the brand promises more outlandish ideas will debut on its larger follow-up models due in the coming years. I was surprised to find how big the doors are given this car’s coupe roofline, making it easy to step in and out of, and I also had plenty of knee room and headroom behind my own seating position, despite a raised rear bench. it has an excellent parking mode that detects both movement outside and impact and buffers whatever is happening just before the event (basically the recording will show whatever got captured before and after). It scores you adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, rear auto braking, higher-grade LED headlights with cornering function, and a 360-degree parking suite.

Can electric vehicles tow a trailer?

Range is officially stated as 470km on the standard range single motor, 540km on the long range single motor, or 480km on the long range dual motor. Using the command ‘hey Google!’, you can control and adjust various things like the air-con, heated seats and demisters. You can also use the usual spread of apps via the infotainment, including Apple CarPlay. Like the rest of the car, the load area has been well thought out with hooks and tether points aplenty. There’s even a panel that folds up, splitting the rear boot in half and making sure your shopping doesn’t slide about. Standard spec continues many of the similarities with Tesla, as even the base Polestar 2 features a big free-floating 11.15-inch multimedia screen which has a Google-integrated nav suite and always-online features (meaning the car has its own sim card, regardless of whether you’re connected to a phone).

The infotainment system powered by Android Automotive OS is a first for any vehicle. This provides access to Google Assistant, Google Maps and the Google Play Store. Phone-as-Key further underlines the digital nature of the vehicle, while a sophisticated Harmon Kardon sound system is also included.

The steering tune surprised me by being much lighter than the XC40 Recharge, and while it does have an element of disconnect from the front wheels, thanks to slightly too much electrical assist, it still makes the Polestar 2 playful and easy to point. On a final note, part of the Polestar brand promise is to build the world’s first truly carbon neutral vehicle by 2030. To that end, its cars will be built increasingly using renewable resources. Fortunately, FitCamX provides one of the best-looking, nearly OEM-level dash cameras on the market. Installation takes under 10 minutes since FitCamX uses a simple splitter that utilizes power from the rearview mirror to provide a clean discreet look. What is included in the box? And that leads us on nicely to look at the 2’s tech. The Polestar uses Android Automotive (not to be confused with Android Auto), so the car’s infotainment operating system is light years ahead of its rivals. I don't want to take the risk to drain the 12V battery to 11.5V unnecessarily, the electronics of the P2 might not like that too much.
