I had to make good use of my aging lung capacity with this device, having to give a really good pull on the pod. That’s indicative of far too much airflow for a decent mouth to lung vape. Speaking of airflow, it’s achieved by the two small cut outs located at the top of the battery section. Airflow travels down the sides of the pod and passes up through the ingress tube hitting the coils full on.

Although there is a power button on the front, the Novo X is a strictly draw-activated pod vape. You can turn it on or off by pressing the fire button five times, or change the wattage by pressing the power button twice and then pressing the fire button to increase the wattage in 0.5W increments. A classical pod vape that's also portable. The elegant metallic body with fine CNC cutting and plating/painting finish is 16.5mm thin and weighs only 50.2 grams. By inhaling through the mouthpiece to start your fresh vaping, novo X will provide you with style and comfort. LOW-PROFILE BUTTON It's not just the color aesthetic that differentiates the exteriors of the latest Novo pod devices. While each device maintains its sleek, flash drive-style shape, each new generation has increased slightly in size. These 0.8Ω MTL pods are perfectly fine for use with regular nicotine ejuices but they’re really just perfect for mid-strength nicotine salts. I’ve been using 35mg salts with the Novo X and they vape perfectly. The draw is a tight MTL draw with warm vapor at 22.5W. There is no recommended wattage range for this pod so I just tested different wattages until I found a wattage that vaped comfortably. The throat hit is great and very satisfying. The flavor is similar to the Novo 3 pods and good for a low powered pod vape.

Novo Pod Device Size Differences

Juice window is pointless, it will only show if the level is nearly fully, anything less then you need to remove the pod, not the end of the world but don’t see the point of the window. Operated by a delicate power button, the device uses a trigger system enabling users to easily power it on, power it off and adjust the power. SAFETY IS ALWAYS OUR FIRST CONCERN Not an uncommon issue with pod based systems but it does still remains commonly annoying. Same Pod, Different Liquid Ratio. I worked my way up the Smok Novo chain and stopped at the Novo X, my favorite for its cost and longevity. The pods are excellent and do not disappoint. Used at about 12W, they last a week, sometimes two weeks. There's no firing button because the device is draw-activated, which is very convenient and handy, especially for new vapers who might find operating the firing button a little tedious.

Unfortunately the Smok Novo X Kit falls short when it comes to replicating the experience of smoking a cigarette, that classic mouth to lung requirement. The airflow structure has not been set up to compensate a smoker wishing to quit. Tips for new nicotine users: Sub-ohm or low resistance atomizers produce a higher throat hit than standard,high resistance atomizers. We strongly suggest 3 to 6mg eLiquid or lower with sub-ohm or low resistance atomizer heads. Preference may vary depending on the user and frequency of use.

I have not used many Smok products during my vaping journey, so I was looking forward to reviewing this as there is such mixed opinions on Smok as a brand. It’s a little odd that Smok are also promoting the Novo X mesh 0.8ohm pod but have chosen to omit it from this kit.

Within the battery section the the positive and negative terminals are visible. An air ingress port also lines up with the pod when attached. Battery and Wattage The flavour quality was fantastic and the DC pod was able to bring out most of the dairy tones. The vape was warm enough to emulate dollops of cream and rice pudding.The Smok Novo pod system is one of the latest MTL-focused vapes released by Smok. It's a relatively new entrant in the vaping industry, but it's holding its own against some of the better-known pod systems in the industry.
