With Logitech Flow, you can use the mouse cursor to move from one computer to the next. You can even copy and paste between computers, and if you have a compatible Logitech keyboard, such as MX Keys, the keyboard will follow the mouse and switch computers at the same time. When you install Logitech Options+, you can install predefined app-specific settings that will adapt the mouse button behavior to the selected applications. If you are out and about and don’t want to carry a mouse mat, this level of surface tolerance is very handy. The M705 is also a great mouse, with an even better battery life. What you get with the MX mice are either extra buttons (in the case of the Master series), or in the case of the latest generation the magnetic scroll wheel. While it is not possible to draw a conclusion about the overall quality of the Logitech MX Anywhere 3 based solely on its specifications, it can be noted that Logitech is a reputable brand in the computer peripheral industry known for its commitment to delivering reliable and durable products. One last thing about the scroll wheel: horizontal scrolling is achieved by pressing and holding one of the side buttons and moving the wheel up or down. I opened up a Google Sheet to test the feature and it worked flawlessly. When I showed my wife, a data scientist, she said it was a dream feature for her work.

The precise specifications and advanced technology of this mouse result in a smooth and accurate cursor control experience. As thoughtfully designed as it is, the MX Anywhere 3 isn't the most comfortable mouse for my hands because of its small size.

In Logitech Options software, you can decide to disable SmartShift if you prefer to stay in one scrolling mode and always shift manually. You can also adjust the SmartShift sensitivity, which will change the speed required to automatically shift into free spinning. In the All Application drop down, I can change the functionality for the buttons per each supported application. For example, for Safari the front button on the left can be set to ten different options. You will need to install Logitech Options+ software on both computers and follow these instructions. In addition to enabling the buttons for use with Macs, Logitech Options+ software lets you assign other useful functions to the buttons, including undo/redo, OS navigation, volume up/down, and more.
