When it comes to gaming, it means having to pay a higher AMD/Nvidia tax just to view higher detailed game graphics at a higher resolution. The only things that physically change with regards to higher resolutions is screen size & how far away from it you need to sit unless you're Mr. Magoo and sit really really close to it. As far as I'm concerned, 1440p is the sweet spot for all of my needs.

To test monitors, my go-to genre is fast-paced first person shooters. It’s a genre that demands responsiveness and detail to land shots and climb the leaderboard. As a result, I spent the most time in Battlefield V and APEX Legends. To round things out, I loaded up Divinity: Original Sin 2 to experience its gloriously saturated palette on the MAG’s VA panel.

If Battlefield V is about the “rough and tumble,” APEX is about the flow. With my RTX 2080, I was able to push upwards of 120 FPS consistently which G-Sync was able to control and make super smooth. Sliding down a hill in a mad rush to beat an enemy team at a fully synced 120+ FPS is a glorious thing.
Ghosting is a bit of an issue with the Optix MAG321QR-QD. While I don’t notice it in my usual gaming sessions – again, I’m no professional gamer – slight ghosting can be seen in UFO Test’s ghosting tool. If you’re sensitive to ghosting, it’s worth keeping this in mind.There are various panel technologies. Each has its own specific features - viewing angles, color reproduction, response time, brightness/contrast, production cost, etc. The image quality depends directly on the type of the display panel used.
