This adventure is designed to run with a larger group of players (3-5) that have at least 4-5 hours of time, but will not be meeting together on a regular basis to do a larger Campaign Story. Think of this as the "Once-A-Year Family Visit" version. There are no extra expansion sets or tokens needed, just the regular box set, and the adjusted rules are minimal. The Player Turn consists of: turn over the next Poker Card (Exploration), then resolve the resulting Scenario. For the first 9 cards (Diamonds, Clubs, Hearts shuffled together): To achieve victory in the Legend of Drizzt, players need to accomplish the objective specified by the adventure they’re playing. It can be anything from defeating a powerful creature, to preparing for a massive assault of monsters. A felfedezés fázis (Exploration Phase) során kerülnek fel az új területek az asztalra. Egyrészt semlegesíthetitek a találkozás pakli lapjait, másrészt szintet léphettek a hősökkel. Az első esetben öt tapasztalati pontot kell elkölteni és a lap hatása nem jön létre. A szintlépés nem ilyen egyszerű…

Each Hero has a lot of Power cards, but you can use the ones recommended by the Adventure book for the best balance of abilities. Work together to figure out the next step, especially when it comes to movement, as it’s by far the easiest mechanic to mismanage. The core game loop of Drizzt is more fun than it should be – it is surprisingly engaging to just wander around hitting things until they fall down. The gradual erosion of effectiveness that accompanies the encounters and exploration lends it a nice tension that feeds into sustaining an agreeable amount of pace. You definitely draw an encounter if you don’t draw a tile, and only sometimes if you do. It incentivises exploration, which creates new battles, which keeps everything interesting until the final engagement comes along. It doesn’t outstay its welcome. Legend of Drizzt doesn’t thrive then in the tactical design space. As such it has to be driven by the novelty of the gaming experience – in its richness of foes, treasures and encounters. In this it’s clear to me that Legend of a Drizzt is a game that becomes better the closer its proximity to the other boxes in the series. Like a cardboard Voltron each game makes the aggregate experience richer. Every box brings with it new creatures, new treasures, and new opportunities to explore the varied world of the Forgotten Realms. The Drizzt box is generous in what it gives you, but it is a considerably shallower experience than I’d like and it doesn’t take long before you’ve drained it of all its surprises. Exploration: Placing heroes in an unexplored edge don´t trigger automatic exploration. Heroes must move to the new tile expending speed points.It’s certainly true that some scenarios do mix things up a bit, but for the most part they all play very similarly with an almost identical arc of experience – clumsily explore your surroundings, fumble around in the dark, meet hideous and grotesque monsters, fight, reach a climax, and come away vaguely disappointed. A bit like a night out in Falkirk, in other words.
