Our KS1 King Charles III Fact File is a brilliant way to introduce your class to the new king. When can we look forward to the coronation of the New King? The coronation service for King Charles III will be held on 6th May, in the spring/summer season of 2023. The event will be scheduled close to the 70th anniversary of the former Queen’s coronation in 1953. The royal coronation falling 70 years after Queen Elizabeth II was crowned will make the occasion even more special and significant for the people of Britain and the commonwealth countries, with events for the royal occasion taking place all over the world. A ceremony will be held to officially crown King Charles III the new monarch, the final event in his accession to the throne. A bank holiday in the UK is set to be announced for the state event in due course, giving us all a chance to get involved with this historic event and celebrate the coronation of the new King.
