This isn’t your bold Tenessee whiskey, but its robust character is enough to impress fanatics and liquor drinkers. What’s interesting is the Cherry Coke notes at first, then soon turns into Cherry root beer, slowly fading towards a vaguely watery finish. It’s very rare nowadays, and so is the price, but given the history that this bottle carries– it makes a priced possession to whiskey lovers, particularly JD fanatics.

But we don’t expect the notes of vanilla ice cream on the palate. This flavored whiskey is an original recipe of JD and is finely crafted, which is evident in its character. 13. Sour Mash Legacy Edition Series As expected, it has milk chocolate notes, with layers of vanilla wafers, banana chips, and Cherry Coke. It is close to perfection; it’s just that the mild burn on the finish is a little off, and we find the oak and baking spices too intense and nuanced. From the 2011-2014 Holiday Select expressions, the toasted oak and baking spice notes are dominant. As it develops, there’s an enticing blend of soft and sweet fruit layered with rye oak and rye spice.The tasting notes are nice, giving a warm cornbread aroma, followed by vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg flavors on the palate.

JD even used their special “Sinatra Barrels,” with concentric grooves carved within the virgin charred oak barrels.Besides, it has a nuance of flavors; citric, chocolate, dried fruit, and honey, with leather, molasses, tobacco, and vanilla notes.

Single Barrel Special Release Heritage Barrel The palate then opens to reveal dark fruit and a combination of tobacco and dried corn husks.
