About this deal

Weapon and accessory elements include: The Mandalorian’s Amban phase-pulse blaster and spear, Moff Gideon’s darksaber, 2 thermal detonators and electrobinoculars to inspire creative play They might look a bit large and the spring-loaded missile tails are a bit obtrusive to the overall design, but on the whole it doesn’t look too bad and adds quite a bit of playability. The minifigure selection in this set is good, with some standouts like Fennec Shand and the Dark Trooper, but I feel like a set of this size needed one more figure. Personally, I would’ve liked a live-action version of Bo-Katan, or even just another Dark Trooper.

It’s not particularly fun to play with, as the TIE only launches a few centimetres, and the feature only works with the top of the ship open so it looks rather odd. I’m not sure this play feature was an effective use of parts. As well as the plates, we also have a collection of sloped elements, going towards building up the conning tower, as well as the rear upper plating. Between the upper and lower plating, we set up some greeblling and front Imperial Light Cruiser is probably most remarkable for the structural engineering that allows for such fluidity between the exterior of the model and what is, quite literally, a hollowed-out front-end to it. To achieve that without compromises elsewhere is worthy of particular note and appreciation.Beyond that, 75315 Imperial Light Cruiser does what it needs to do –strike a balance between play and display in recreating a large-scale ship in LEGO form. But that it has to do so in direct competition with such a range of other LEGO Star Wars ships releasing at the same time, and all of them much cheaper, is where it faces a real challenge. — Characters — This figure is absolutely adorable overall, and captures the essence of Baby Yoda in a LEGO figure. It’s excellent that it comes in this set, as Grogu was the central character in the finale. This vessel closely resembles the Arquitens-class Command Cruiser, integrating an identical notch towards the prow. The shape here looks reasonable and I welcome this mixture of light and dark bluish grey colours. However, several blue Technic pins are clearly visible inside the notch and these look awful, which is particularly disappointing because they could easily have been concealed behind tiles.

She is armed with a blaster rifle that has a lightsaber hilt mounted on the end to make it even longer. Events aboard Moff Gideon's cruiser are centred around Grogu and this diminutive character has remained unchanged since 75292 The Razor Crest was released. The rubber head looks absolutely adorable, as expected, while the Child's heavy robe is represented by the standard baby component. This seems reasonable, but I think introducing another unique element here would have been worthwhile. Includes 5 LEGO minifigures: The Mandalorian, Cara Dune, Fennec Shand, Moff Gideon and new-for-August-2021 Dark Trooper Corresponding with larger Imperial-class Star Destroyers, the Class 546 Cruiser is powered using three primary engines beside four supplemental engines. However, unlike classic Star Destroyers, these engines are relatively exposed and this vessel replicates their shape quite successfully. The dark bluish grey accents across the armour look appealing, in particular.

Keepability: 4/5 – this set is worth keeping, especially for fans of the Mandalorian or Star Wars ships in general. It certainly looks good on display. However, several spots in the interior cannot hold figures when the ship cover is closed, due to the height limitations. This is slightly disappointing but still understandable, as preserving the correct external shape is more important to me than usable interior space. Trouble on Tatooine introduced an updated Din Djarin minifigure, wearing his valuable beskar armour. The metallic silver panels covering the torso, legs and arms look excellent and stand out beautifully against the dark brown attire underneath. In addition, the various pouches and straps provide welcome detail, demonstrating fidelity to the onscreen character. And on both what’s on the outside and the inside, 75315 Imperial Light Cruiser delivers. The unique, striking shape of the cruiser is perfectly captured in proportions and detail around the exterior, thanks to a slight Technic-frame construct on the inside. The all-grey colour scheme works against highlighting the subtle angles that have been recreated in the model, but it all still comes together effectively at the end as the reason why your eye so easily accepts the authentic nature of what’s in front of you.

Fans of the Mandalorian ought to get this set, but I think waiting for a discount first would definitely be wise. Rating: The side panels toward the front of the ship use studs-not-on-top techniques, which feature nice greebling. Two small cannons are mounted on either side, and the cannon barrels can be adjusted up and down.I will say, they don't all look the same, although, they are known to have remakes with newer designs. (Such as the TIE Fighter or X-Wing), but they do have similar colour schemes, so I understand where you are coming from. " The second minifigure is Cara Dune. This is her second minifigure appearance after 75254 AT-ST Raider, and could be the last given the fact that the actress was fired by Disney. The front end of the cruiser opens up in much the same way many previous LEGO Star Destroyers have – this time in one large folding panel – to house a minifigure-scale interpretation of the ship’s bridge. It’s relatively sparse, with only four control panels, a couple of storage boxes and a central desk to populate the location, but that’s pretty similar to how it appeared in The Mandalorian, with plenty of space left over for the many characters that came together in the Season 2 finale. The side view of the ship is great, and the length is certainly a standout feature: The ship measures around 58cm (22.5″) long, which is a couple inches longer than the 75055 Imperial Star Destroyer set, and certainly looks impressive on display. The front of the ship seems to be yet another area where the designers tried to make the best of a limited space. This is supposed to be the front hangar of the ship, and you can take one of the TIEs from the rear hangars and place them here.

Here’s a look at her alternate face, which looks more sly. This figure is now no longer exclusive, as it appeared in 75326, but the helmet piece is still exclusive. I do wish a hairpiece was included in this set, as in most scenes she does not wear her helmet. In many ways, 75315 Imperial Light Cruiser is close to the limit of what it can be in functions, design and authenticity for the piece count and number of minifigures included. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the price, which stretches at least 30% beyond that same limit. Left: The print for the Mandalorian’s helmet included in this copy of 75315 Imperial Light Cruiser was a bit off… Last but not least is Baby Yoda aka Grogu, who isn’t a new figure, but still looks absolutely adorable.
