every minute i was reading about Zade and Adeline doing exactly what they did in this book, i felt like i passed away. like i’m so dead serious right now when i say there’s something about them that scratches an itch in the deep crevices of my brain. This is not a book I'd recommend you read at night. It gets spooky and eerie at points which could give you some effed up dreams. Don't say I didn't warn you!

The author said in a Tiktok comment that this book has more spice than the first. Ma'am, that "spice" was rape. What on earth are you talking about. EDIT: I am reducing my rating because it gave people the wrong impression. I do not support Zade’s character. He is a hypocrite and a rapist. I did enjoy this duet for the writing and the story. This part especially traumatised me but I couldn’t stop reading it. Yes, Haunting Adeline is spicy. It is one of the spiciest dark romances you’ll come across. Haunting Adeline Spice Level Now I won't deny this book is not for anyone. Either you'll like it, enjoy it or be disgusted and hate it. There's no in between. I went in thinking it's a dark romance but oh boy, it really was dark. Some of the things that happen between Adeline and Zade, I'm glad it's just a work of fiction and nothing more.

I can't wait for her to release the third book of the trilogy aaa!! Still it was not enough. I don’t think anything will ever be enough to justify the horror Addie went through. It all happened because of Zade. Don’t dare denying it.

I really wanted to know what happened to the baddies in the book, but the dialogue between Zade and Addie was so cringe worthy at times, and some of the things Zade said to her definitely got an eye roll or two. 🙄

I'm going to start out with this because I feel like otherwise it'll get lost in the end of my review and no one will care but can we please stop making sapphic relationships a joke? The Ritual is a dark college romance novel is available on Kindle Unlimted! It can be read as a standalone but is the first book in the interconnected series. There’s a point where the heroine goes to a club and meets this guy, Archie. While she’s at the club, Zade messages her And I did. Except I loved one of the stories. The one with the dark anti hero stalking and getting closer to his victim. The haunting, the mystery. I loved the Dubious Consent thing. The main reason i am reducing one star is because the first two times they had sex, he forced himself on her. They both knew it. People excuse this by saying it was cnc and even though I never kink shame, it was just not something i could easily fathom. Not only that but he also physically abuses her by slapping and choking and etc. He also punishes her all the time for the littlest things. And never listens to what she says. Just because she came in the end doesn’t make it okay for me. But i mean she didn’t seem to mind so ig that’s what counts. And if you’re into that, I understand.

I am so enthralled with Zade and Addie. This continuation and completion to the Cat and Mouse duet was beautiful and heartbreaking in soo many ways. With that in mind, this book was dark to another level in comparison to the first and like stated above I face him, eyeing him closely. He’s relaxed into his seat, his long legs spread, one hand draped over the wheel and the other resting on the armrest between us.

But one of the hard limits is trying to excuse the behavior, and that's what this book does at every turn. LIES. I’m scared and you should be too. I feel like less is more when it comes to this review (nah we all knew I’d end up ranting again).
