About this deal

This set comprises six plastic components, and is supplied with a Citadel 32mm Round Base. This miniature is supplied unpainted and requires assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel paints. The remaining Legions—the Raven Guard, Salamanders, Iron Hands, and Space Wolves- remained resolutely loyal to the Emperor, though they would all pay a heavy price in the battles that lay ahead. Beyond the Legions, Horus had already managed to sway Adept Regulus by promising the deployment of STCs acquired during the war against the Auretian Technocracy, securing the support of the Adeptus Mechanicusfor the Warmaster’s cause. Additionally, he had corrupted a significant portion of the Imperial Army and Navy to bolster his forces. Burning Of Prospero (004.M31) A fateful duel between Ferrus Manus and Fulgrim ensued, culminating in Manus’ tragic demise at the hands of his former brother while the Emperor’s Children ruthlessly slaughtered the Iron Hands. The surviving loyalists retreated toward the perceived safety of their brethren in the second wave, hoping to receive reinforcements. However, the four Legions constituting the second wave—the Night Lordsunder Konrad Curze, the Iron Warriors led by Perturabo, the Word Bearers commanded by Lorgar, and the Alpha Legion of Alpharius—had already succumbed to the seduction of Horus’ cause. They turned their weapons upon their unsuspecting brothers, mercilessly slaughtering them. Following the battle, Fulgrim presented the severed head of Ferrus Manus to Horus as a grisly trophy. Another factor that played a role was the establishment of an administrative entity called the Council of Terra. Numerous Primarchs perceived these human bureaucrats as encroaching upon their rightful position as leaders of the Imperium they had tirelessly forged. To compound matters, the Primarchs were deliberately excluded from the Council, giving rise to apprehension among many of them about the prospect of an Imperium governed primarily by human administrators, rather than the Emperor’s sons and their Astartes Legions. In the Horus Heresy board game, the most legendary battle in the history of the Warhammer 40,000 universe unfolds across the razed plains of Terra and in the frozen orbit above. Deadly fighting ranges from the Emperor’s golden Inner Palace to Horus’s flagship, the Vengeful Spirit. [1]

After purging all suspected loyalist members within the three Legions under his direct command, Horus selected Isstvan V as his central command post, meticulously preparing a treacherous trap for his former brothers and their Legions. So yes, Horus Heresy has a really strong theme and the game utilizes it quite well. One of the things that helps tie the theme to the game is Horus Heresy’s fantastic components. From the excellently sculpted minis to the very well laid out 3d board, Horus Heresy is just a joy to behold. Even the cards are both very functional and include thematic Warhammer artwork. These two elements combined help to provide a rich game play experience for Horus Heresy. A players action cards decide which units they can activate and what they do.Imperium Secundus faced continuous internal strife, primarily due to political clashes between Guillimanand Lion El’Jonson. Sanguinius, unable to mediate between the two, had visions revealing that the Emperor lived and Terra persisted. These revelations, coupled with the constant disagreements among the ruling triumvirate, led to the dissolution of Imperium Secundus. Although Sanguinius, Roboute Guilliman, and Lion El’Jonson attempted to breach the Ruinstorm and reach Terra, only Sanguinius and the Blood Angels succeeded. The Battle of Trisolian and the Wolf Cull (012.M31) In his determined effort to alert the Emperor, Magnus directed a powerful psychic transmission that shattered the Imperial Palace’s psychic defences on Terra. This breach not only obliterated all the protective wards the Emperor had meticulously established but also resulted in the unintended destruction of the Emperor’s clandestine project: a physical gateway intended for the Emperor’s invasion of the Webway, where he would take the battle to the Aeldari. One Warhammer: The Horus Heresy transfer sheet, with more than 300 transfers to customise your miniatures with the iconography of the Imperial Fists and Sons of Horus

While the Heresy was sparked by a conspiracy orchestrated by the Chaos forces, it was further fuelled by several contributing factors that drove numerous Legio Astartestowards rebellion. Among these factors, the foremost was the Emperor’s unexpected return to Terra and his subsequent seclusion as he immersed himself in a secretive project, which he withheld from his Primarchs, including his beloved son Horus, who held the title of Warmaster. This apparent abandonment of the Great Crusade, coupled with the Emperor’s reluctance to confide in his own sons, sowed seeds of mistrust, resentment, and disappointment among many of the Primarchs towards their father. Warmaster Horus Lupercal has plunged the Imperium of Mankind into a cataclysmic war of unimagineable ferocity. Setting brother against brother he has risen up against the Emperor taking half of the Legiones Astartes with him. The nine steadfast loyal legions defy this onslaught through years of strife to the culmination in 30014 of the Siege of Terra. The Horus Heresy: Age Of Darkness is the long-awaited prequel to Warhammer 40000 depicting the era 10,000 years before. Allying himself with the Ruinous Powers, Warmaster Horus convinces half of his brother Primarchs and their Space Marine Legions to betray their oaths and make war upon the Emperor and his loyal sons. Horus Heresy is a deep game that is very rich in theme. Any Warhammer 40k fan is going to have a great time with this board game. All of the familiar faces are there and recreating the historic battle from the books makes for an enjoyable experience. Does that mean players who haven’t read any of the books won’t enjoy this game? I’d say not necessarily. Horus Heresy is an interesting war game that portrays an epic battle between two powerful sides. You don’t have to be knee deep in story to enjoy that. But if you are, it will only add to your enjoyment.

The Sergeant has a Power Sword along with his Combi-Bolter. He can swap his Power Sword for a Power Fist and trade both for two Lighning Claws. There are multiple frontal armour types, heads. pauldrons and small shield emblems provided to make your squads unique. Praetor Your Gods Final Score: 3.5 Stars – A fun theme combined with some great components make this one a joy to play for Warhammer 40k fans. The Bolters can have Bayonets or Chain Bayonets added and the legionaries can carry Frag grenades or Krak grenades. The initial trio of Primarchs to stand by the Warmaster included Angron of the World Eaters, whose insatiable love for violence resonated with Khorne; Fulgrim of the Emperor’s Children, who succumbed to the allure of a daemon weapon promising eternal perfection under Slaanesh’sinfluence; and Mortarionof the Death Guard, whose prior corruption through the efforts of his first captain, Calas Typhon, made him susceptible to persuasion. Erebus had already secured the allegiance of Lorgar and the Word Bearers, aligning these legions with Horus’ cause. The Marines are presented in MKVI power armour to build and paint to whichever of the 18 Legions you choose from the Ist to the XXth (the IInd and XIth being the “Lost Legions” purged along with their Primarchs from history) and have Umbra pattern boltguns as their primary weapon. The Legionaries come in five different poses and can be built carrying the Vexilla (standard) or Nuncio-Vox (communications device).

Speaking of ending the game, I also really liked how the game has multiple ways to end. And let me add that none of them are easy to achieve. Horus Hersey is a very tight game that has a great ebb and flow to it. Once side will seem to have the upper hand only to have a strategically placed card switch the tide of the game. During our games, we constantly would have each player close to a different objective at the same time. Horus Heresy requires players to stay on their toes and adapt throughout the game. The 10 Terminators in Age of Darkness, are clad in Cataphractii armour (named for the Cataphracts, the Persian heavily armoured cavalry of ancient times). This armour provides an unparalleled level of protection at the expense of speed of movement. But that brings us to the game play. Even the best components in the world won’t matter if the game play is unengaging. Fortunately, that’s not the case with Horus Heresy. While the game play isn’t perfect, it’s still a very well thought out game. One of the problems though is the game is almost a little too complicated for it’s own good. I feel like the designer might have gone overboard in certain areas. Led by Captain Garro, a group of seventy loyalists managed to seize control of the Imperial frigate Eisenstein. Evading pursuit by Horus’ forces, they successfully escaped the Isstvan system and entered the Immaterium. However, the Eisenstein had suffered significant damage during its escape from Isstvan III. All of its astropaths had perished, and its sole navigator was gravely wounded. Nonetheless, Garro devised a desperate plan to draw the attention of nearby loyalist ships. He set the vessel’s warp engines to self-destruct and jettisoned them from the ship. Rogal Dorn’s Imperial Fists Legion, which had been stranded in the Warp with its fleet for some time, sensed the detonation of the Eisenstein’s Warp drives and immediately altered course to locate the source. Dorn met with Garro, who proceeded to recount the harrowing events involving the traitorous legions. Warhammer The Horus Heresy: Age of Darkness – During 31st Millennium, at the peak of the Emperor’s Great Crusade to conquer the galaxy in humanity’s name, Warmaster Horus did the unthinkable and betrayed his father The Emperor of Mankind. Thus began the most turbulent period in the history of the nascent Imperium of Man, the Age of Darkness. An Age of Darkness has descended upon the galaxy. Horus Lupercal, Warmaster of the Emperor’s armies, has turned against his gene-father and sent the Imperium spiralling into bloody civil war. Of the eighteen great Space Marine Legions, finest of all humanity’s soldiers, fully half have sided with the traitorous Warmaster, while the remainder stand staunchly loyal to the Emperor. It is a war of brother against brother, Space Marine against Space Marine, which has seen the might of the Imperium’s vast armies turned upon itself in a cataclysm of fire and blood. The pintle mounted weapon can be: twin-linked bolter, combi-weapon, heavy bolter or flamer, multi-melta or a havoc launcher. Horus Heresy includes six scenarios that differ in both difficulty and style. The first scenario, titled Brother Against Brother, is recommended for all new players as it provides predetermined starting locations for both player's forces. It is a well balanced version of the Battle for Terra, and also presents a roughly historical recreation of the conflict's events.
