About this deal

This is inspired by Spanish tortillas: golden on the outside with perfectly cooked egg and still slightly runny in the centre – with lots of chorizo and extra-smoky paprika. I’ve been doing some thinking recently with the students at the University of the Arts about the difference between hope and optimism. It’s been an ongoing discussion in response to their lecture series on modes of Modernity and the utopian idea for the perfect city. Here’s what we’ve been thinking. The creation waits in eager expectation… The creation was subjected to frustration, not by it’s own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from it’s bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God” In Genesis 1 Adam and Eve are commissioned by God with the stewardship of the earth. God tells them to “Fill the Earth and Subdue it”… taking care of all living things and the planet itself. Genesis 1:28

Inspired by a memorable quote from the show, this T-shirt showcases the witty humour that Red Dwarf is known for. It’s a conversation starter and a statement piece that allows you to proudly display your love for the series. With its gender-neutral style, this T-shirt is suitable for anyone who appreciates great TV and wants to make a bold fashion statement. Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/gas mark 6 and repeat steps 1-3 in the first recipe. I used a shallow tart tin here – about 24cm wide. Pour over the egg mixture. Put the quiche on a baking tray. Bake for about 50-60 minutes, until souffléd and golden. Rest for 15 minutes before slicing into it. Ricotta, spinach and lemon quiche The idea that everything is not as it should be is not exclusive to Modernity. You don’t need to be a Modernist philosopher to recognise the world is messed up. It’s also something that the bible affirms. In the book of Romans, the apostle Paul writes of the world (or to use his language creation) Quiche must be eaten at least residually warm. Straight-from-the-fridge, cold quiche is a sad, drab thing, the filling set and leaden, the pastry all waxy with congealed fat. You need to loosen that quiche up a little: light some candles, give it a metaphorical massage, warm it through in the oven. When it emerges (the filling now wobbly, bulging, almost running free; the hot pastry light, crisp and snapping), it is a different meal altogether. Filling

Pour ¾ of the pepper custard into the flan, then pop in the oven, then fill right to the brim with the rest of the custard

Quiche is a much misunderstood flan and savoury bake. Whereas its origins in French cuisine may not have done its tough guy reputation any favours, it was the 1982 book Real Men Don’t Eat Quiche which finally put the kibosh on it. Preheat the oven to 200 deg C/gas mark 6 and repeat steps 1-3 in the first recipe. I used a shallow tart tin here - about 24cm wide. A little time to catch up on some reading, stop, rest and pray. After a difficult week I admit I wasn’t quite ready for another full on conference and the free half-day afforded here comes at just the right time.

Gently fry the bacon for a couple of minutes to take a little colour then add the onions and cook for a further 8-10 minutes Line with scrunched up baking parchment and fill with baking beans right to the top. Place the case onto a baking tray and cook for 20 minutes to set the pastry. Anyway, the point is, avatar was liked because it was good at the things it sold itself on. Action, and Graphics. As an addedum, the 3D thing was shit. Really it added nothing. Look me in th eye and disagree with me,I dare you. Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/gas mark 6. I use a deep-dish tart pan around 22cm wide, but you could use a wider one that is more shallow. Roll out the chilled pastry, then press it into your buttered tin. Put a piece of parchment inside the pastry and fill it with dried beans or ceramic weights. Blind bake the case for 25 minutes. Remove the beans and paper. Brush the pastry with a lightly beaten egg. Continue baking for 15-20 minutes, or until golden. In honesty, there have been a few disappointments these last few weeks that have made what is normally a real joy in ministry something quite hard. Anyone familiar with the UCCF Arts calendar will know that the annual arts conference is on the horizon for July. For various reasons it’s been a real slog to get off the ground this year and I’ve felt quite frustrated at times.
