About this deal

R.Every Freelander, Evoque and Disco Sport ever made has a transverse engine. Non have ever had a longitudinal engine. It’s just that it is thought that something changed with how they can position the DPF on the later models that caused the issueIncorrect. A premier SUV designed and built by Land Rover, the Discovery was intended for use as both a family car and a utility vehicle. It's now coming up for 11 weeks since the oil leak occurred and I'm still without my vehicle. The alleged breakdown on the trip to Heathrow was down to a broken crankshaft. I say "alleged" because I just don't know whether to believe a word this guy has told me now. I do around 12k minimum per year, a 300 mile trip once a month (80% motorway) and a good 3 to 4 x 30 mile trips per week (50% motorway) the rest is nipping 5 miles up the road. I don't expect huge mileage totals between services but do you think this driving style would warrant the 3k intervals people are talking about? Peter - would the 15w40 (same as the TD uses) be ok for an old but not too smokey 300TDi or am I better off with the 10w40

Hi All, I know this issue has been and is discussed at length but just wanted to run a few things past everyone to try and make an informed decision!

New information (Sept 2020) suggests that during Urban driving the DPF might need to "self-clean" every 75 to 100 miles, a process that JLR now concedes takes 40 minutes (doubling its original estimate of 10 to 20 minutest). The car must be driven at 40-70 mph (covering at least 26 miles) to ensure the DPF cleaning process completes, according to a revised DPF disclaimer linked in the document below. For some drivers this could mean that 25% of their mileage is spent performing active regeneration by the process of post injection of diesel.

I've done mine too. The oil was pretty grim. Is it possible that new oil could then trigger the need for a transfer box clutch realignment. I have some funny noises that I appeared after the oil change Using the oil bottle as reference, measure how much you need to insert the plastic pipe inside the bottle, and use a bit of tape to make sure when you insert the pipe, there is no leaks! To do an autobox oilchange you either pump it out via the oil cooler connections, or you do it via the sump and level/plug. i bet it is in trying to do the oil on a bmw , can at least put my suspension into off road height, lol Once the draining has finished, using the new washer close up the sump plug and commence refilling the box via the level plug. At this stage you will only be able to get perhaps 2ltrs of oil in the box. Just wondering as the 90 (19J) already uses 10w40 Differs oil - be nice to be able to double up on oil. Save money and space.

In a nutshell the problem on the DS and Evoque is one of insufficient heat in the DPF caused by too much pipework between the engine and the canister that houses it. This is what is meant by "hardware and architecture" in the text of the SCN and the known facts make it virtually impossible to rebut a strong and determined assertion that this hardware architecture doesn't work properly. An owner with a measure of technical knowledge should therefore find it easy to construct a rejection argument on the basis that the car is "not of satisfactory quality" and "not as described" under ss9 and 11of the CRA 2015. As a Christian, one must recognize that it is written “... if [we] the Gentiles have been made partakers of their [Israel’s] spiritual things, their [Gentiles’] duty is also to minister to them [Israel] in material things.” (Romans 15:27) Because “the G-d of heaven He will prosper us [Zion]” (Nehemiah 2:20) with the oil of Israel ... so that we a new covenant people of Zion will minister and assist “Israel in their petroleum and material needs.” Because, as touching the election, “they [the Jewish People] are beloved for the sake of the fathers.” (Romans 11:28) And, when they do turn to the Lord, the veil on their hearts will be taken away. (2 Corinthians 3:14-16) Rear Differential 1.7 Litres Evolution 2 Fully Synthetic Gear Oil or GL5 Multigrade Gear Oil EP 80W90 European disco—rooted in Europop, with which it is largely synonymous—evolved along somewhat different lines. In Europe producers such as (Jean-Marc) Cerrone ( Love in C Minor) and Alec Costandinos ( Love and Kisses) made quasi-symphonic disco concept albums, while Giorgio Moroder, working primarily at Musicland Studios in Munich, West Germany, conceived of whole album sides as a single unit and arrived at a formula that became the standard approach to European dance music in the 1980s and ’90s. These continental differences did not prevent intercultural collaborations such as that between Moroder and American singer Donna Summer, nor did they close off input from other sources: Cameroonian artist Manu Dibango’s “Soul Makossa,” first a dance-floor hit in Paris, helped usher in the disco era in 1973. Out of an abundance of caution, can I just confirm that the transmission fluid change process is the same for the ZF8 box fitted when paired with the SCV6 motor?

Hi everyone, and thanks for the guide. Very informative even if i cannot perform the change myself. That makes it sound like driving style, and at the extremes it is. But the "average" middle is much more problematic, because it is here that we find normal, or typical, driving styles that would be OK with the Jaguar XE, but far from OK with the DS and Evoque. I've decided to do an oil change on my D3 Transfer Box, and have taken some pictures along the process. I just went to my local Audi dealer and they could not find anything that looked right. D1 300Tdi - gone I asked for a quote on a local garage (that also does my MOT and some other jobs) they quoted me around 400 euros for the transmission oil change, mainly because the 9,5 litres of fluid.

The Evo lubes will last at least twice as long as the ATF and plain mineral GL5. In fact they are good for at least 48,000 miles. My argument to JLR is that considering certainly the Disco and Defender are working vehicles ie they spend a lot of time off road, farm vehicles, towing horseboxes etc that this should have been rectified years ago.
