SpinFit eartips have been one of our favorites here since first trying out a pair that was bundled with the DUNU Luna. The main appeal is that they have the comfortability of silicone tips, but provide a better seal than the average silicone tip due to their namesake patented swivel technology. Basically, there is a joint near the top of the eartip (the part inserted into your ear) which enables it to bend and conform more completely to the shape of your inner ear.

On the whole, the SpinFit CP100 does improve the bass presentation slightly, so it’s something you should consider if you needed that little more bass extension. SpinFit CP100+ (Preview) In this round-up, we shall explore how well this mechanism works across a variety of IEMs. Models to be evaluated: Spinfit CP-100, CP-100+, CP-145, CP-145 (medical-grade silicone), CP-240, CP-360, CP-500, and the CP-800. The only two in-production models that I don’t have with me are the CP-155 (I don’t have a large-nozzle IEM at the moment) and the Airpod-specific CP-1025 (I don’t have an Airpod). The reason is quite simple: universal earphones (i.e. non-custom IEMs) require fiddling with the tips more often than not. Moreover, eartips are just about the cheapest (and often most reproducible) way of tuning an earphone. So we all end up with boxes of eartips of our own, sooner or later. SpinFit have adopted a simple yet elegant underpinning their ear tip design. There is an ergonomic concave design at the core which allows the ear tip to swivel. While conventional ear tips do not always direct the sound to the eardrum, SpinFit aim to maximize this with their patented 3D axis. As I mentioned earlier, the CP100 and CP100+ are vastly similar in sonic properties and are almost indistinguishable. I have included a frequency response measurement comparing the CP100, CP100+ and a random pair of foam tips as a control for some comparison.

The mids are clean and uncolored, but I still prefer the mids from the Xenns Top because of its technical abilities, clarity, and control. When compared to the Khan, I prefer the Khan's mids because of the dynamic driver tonalities. Both the Xenns Top and the Simgot EM6L have a balanced armature tone to them. A small note: I am going to compare the various eartips using the “L” size as reference, so you will need adjust that to the size you are interested in as the purpose is to give you a frame for comparison, not to describe every possible size and combination. The upgraded materials help provide stronger bass and treble response. The CP100+ has a 4mm opening and is compatible with a large range of IEMs.The CP100 puts a litte more bass into the Sony XBA-4. And since the XBA-4 is already strong in the tweeter, this ear tip offers better musical balance. The CP240 is a double flange eartip. Double flange eartips are useful for listeners who have larger ear canals and have a hard time getting a good seal. They can also provide improved isolation in general. On the CP240, the SpinFit pivot comes in between the first and second flange, to provide flexibility at the top for the second flange. The SpinFit CP100 are the basic model, which by shape and feel most closely resemble “standard” eartips. They are conical (a wide ogive, to be exact) and offer a diameter of 4 mm which fits most earphones (including the Campfire Audio Vega 2020 and Dorado 2020, the Thieaudio Legacy 4, the Tin HiFi T2), but which is also a bit tight for earphones with larger nozzles. Still, they’re the ones that will probably fit the larger number of earphones, as they do just fine even with those that have a smaller nozzle like the Legacy 4. They come in 5 different sizes: SS (XS would have probably been better), S, M, L and XL. If you primarily use IEMs with larger eartips but want some flexibility to use them with smaller nozzles, the CP145 will still fit securely on most models while being more accommodating of the wider nozzled IEMs. While the CP100 fits on the Empire Ears line of IEMs, it generally is a little tough to get on, while the CP155 and CP500 don’t provide a snug fit. The CP145 came in just in between with a perfect fit. CP360 is designed to provide a deeper fit, while CP1025 is more shallow. While both will fit on most TWS earphones, some charging cases may not be compatible with the CP360. CP1025 is also available with adapters for Apple AirPods Pro and Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro. W1 The basic idea underlying every SpinFit eartip model is the following: traditional eartips have a straight solid core at their centre which stays so independently of the actual shape of the ear, but it would be better if the core could bend and follow the curves of the ear canal. This is what happens with the SpinFit tips: there is a point in which the silicone is thinner and therefore softer and it’s shaped like a doughnut, so that it can bend and provide better comfort. SpinFit’s double-flange tips offer further levels of sound isolation with an even superior seal compared to the flange tips. Again, they are a good fit for poorly isolating in-ear monitors without compromising on comfort during prolonged listening sessions. CP100+ Ear Tips

The SpinFit CP145 are much like the CP100, but they have a smaller top so they go better inside the ear. The difference is not dramatic in terms of size, but the fit is quite different. The general shape is again ogival, with a height of of 10.1 mm and a with of 13.5 mm. With an inner diameter of 4.5 mm, the CP145 can fit earphones with nozzles up to 5.5/6 mm in diameter: that means that even IEMs with larger soundports, like the Tin HiFi P2, Shanling ME500 Platinum, Fearless Audio S10 Genie or Moondrop A8 will fit correctly, though the silicone will stretch a bit. There are just three sizes: S, M and L. The CP100 provides an easy fit on an IEM with smaller to medium sized nozzle like 64 Audio’s Universal fit offerings. CP145 The Outlier Air V1 definitely cannot work with the CP360. As for the V2, well, it is a little loose. As a result, there is a tendency that the CP360 stays in the ears when you remove the earbuds. For that, I would not recommend using it with the CP360. However, if you insist on using, the CP360 can fit in the charging case. SpinFit CP360 ear tips with Creative Outlier Air V2Be inserted deeper into the ear canal, enabling less obstruction along the sound field dispersion path. The midrange of the SpinFit tips does sway towards the leaner side of the spectrum with more defined transients. Compared to some of the better foam tips (True Fidelity & Campfire Audio’s Marshmallows), the SpinFit’s silicones are more neutral-orientated at the expense of the more rounded and softer impact that the former tips render. Treble As for sound, my impression is that they are quite neutral and I can’t hear significant differences compared to other tips like the CP100. This is actually desirable, so kudos to SpinFit! From the naked eye, they appear identical to the CP100 except the colour. They also feel similar in my ears. The audio quality is also exhibits similar characteristics, although I had an impression that the CP100+ produces slightly clearer upper frequencies like cymbals. Given the CP100 has been on sale for so many years, it’s good to get an upgrade with better silicone materials. SpinFit CP360 Comfort levels are similar although the new material is said to be even more friendly for those with susceptibility to allergies. Overall, the CP100+ offers some welcomed improvements to the already stellar CP100 and provides even more choice for the IEM enthusiast. Comparisons
