About this deal

For best results, I find that you need to apply this by hand on to clean (ideally corrected) paint. Layer the wax with 2 to 3 coats, leaving a couple of hours between each coat to allow it cure. Once again, keep it thin layers. Overapplying is one of the biggest mistakes when it comes to applying wax to your car. The 915 has more carnauba wax in the formula, and its finishing result is a warmer shine, and it is slightly easier to work with. Autoglym Rapid Ceramic Spray is a great, efficient and easy to apply spray product. When applied to the alloys, I’ve been able to get 2 months out of the coating. What I really like about it is that it can be used in tandem with Autoglym Super Resin Polish. The SRP can fill in any light scratches on the wheel, and the RSC is able to seal this in, as well as making the wheel super hydrophobic. When applying this to the wheel, I like to use a microfibre applicator pad to spread it onto the wheel and them remove it using a microfibre cloth.

Many people ask "What's the difference between Collinite845 and Collinite476s?" The answer is simple, 845 insulator wax is a liquid version of 476s. Collinite845 is initiallypresented as more of a paste, this then needs to be shaken to begin to restore its more liquid state. No car wax test would be complete without taking into account the final looks. It’s no different with this Collinite 845 review. Having said that, keep in mind I’m applying the wax on perfectly plain white paint – no mica, flakes or pearl white. It’s kind of hard to get good depth with white like you can with darker, deeper colors. Nonetheless, Collinite Insulator Wax 845 did help achieve more luster and shimmer than the Wolfgang paint sealer alone could. Polymer sealers are notorious for protection and durability but usually don’t look as good as carnauba wax. Collinite’s carnuaba definitely added depth. This wax however is not a strict show car type carnauba where the ultimate goal is looks. Collinite 845 is aimed to strike a balance between good looks and protection. You can see the product has separated out with what I'm guessing is the carrying agent settled to the top while the solids have settled below it.b)I am planning to wash the car once a week with a PH-neutral car shampoo only. Can a ‘Wash and Wax shampoo’ help in longer retention of Collinite 845’s coating by, say, adding a layer of the so-called wax over Collinite 845’s coat, or will such shampoos harm the wax coating rather than aiding? The only wax I have used previously is Sonax High Speed Spray wax so that is my point of reference. Muscle power for application and buffing was 50% of Sonax. Gloss and smoothness was noticeably more! I used Sunnyboi's technique to decant about 25% of the bottle into a dropper, well when I say dropper it is actually the bottle restaurants use to dispense ketchup! Immersed this in a mug of hot water before use via a foam applicator. Thin wax layers helped keep the lazy muscles smiling. I am confident I can do the whole car in under 30 mins with no fatigue. Collinite 845 Insulator wax leaves an almost indestructible coating which even outlasts most sealants as well as 99% of other wax's. A single application can last up to 12 months while remaining detergent proof. 845 Insulator wax offers exceptional wet high gloss finish for cars, wheels, boats, wood, tiles and even your shower! Due to its high temperature resistance it also serves as a great wheel sealant, helping repel brake dust. A little bit goes a long way. I used your basic round, yellow foam applicator pad and it worked just fine.

Hard waxes are used at a slower rate than liquid treatments. We took this into account when factoring in cost, although this played a relatively small role in the verdict. None of the prices here includes delivery costs. Verdict To form this article on what I think is the best car wax, I’ve broken this down into segments, mainly based on the price and the type of car wax. Best Car Wax – Top 6 Easy to apply, spray it - wipe it - that is it. (Hours of hard labour is converted into minutes of wiping) OK then. I spread it out over the applicator with my gloved fingers and proceed to apply over, you guessed it, the hood. (The bonnet, for my British friends).

Collinite No. 845 - Insulator Wax

I have been using Collinite 845 for few years now and I'm extremely happy with its ease of application and the shine it gives. I've recently ventured into a DIY Ceramic coating for my car. It's supposed to last 6 months, and it surely did last a month or two more than that. This is my experience with the same - https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/diy-d...ento-home.html (My experience with Car Care products; How I Ceramic-Coated my Vento at home) Just before I dive in, I realise that Bead Maker is not strictly a wax, it’s a sealant. But when they are in spray form, they work in much the same way. Plus, it’s so good, that I had to include it. If you're not careful, it's easy to accidentally pour out a LOT of wax when using this product because at room temperature, the liquid wax is fairly thin.

How difficult is it to apply and remove the wax ? I apply entire car and then remove, for my 845. Can we do at least one panel at a time with 915, in our Indian weather ? In the summer, Insulator Wax stands up to the heat and UV rays better than most carnauba waxes. You can even use 845 on boats to guard the hull against salt water oxidation. Now that’s a tough wax! I've found that Pinnacle's Paintwork Cleansing Lotion is one of the best non-abrasive polishes available to deeply cleanse the paint and prep it for a wax or sealant. It's easy to apply by hand or machine, and wipes off with ease. With hand application I've found that a microfiber applicator works best for this product as it enables the polish to clean the paint best. This is because the microfiber applicator tends to have more "bite" per se, which enables the polish to cleanse the paint of any old wax or sealant that was previously applied. To achieve even greater results with the polish, I would highly recommend a dual action polisher along with a polishing pad. The 476s is the most durable product offered by Collinite, which is why it requires a little more rubbing and elbow grease. The are the dirtiest parts of the car thank to them being so close to the road, as well as being subjected to a significant amount of break dust. With that in mind, what are the options when it comes to waxes and sealants for wheels?

Inspect paint surface. Gently run your hand over the surface. Is it smooth as glass? Do you feel bumps and rough spots? If you do, you need to clay your car: A few minutes spent applying one of these specialist coatings slows the build-up of brake dust. And then, when it is time to clean up, the grime comes off more easily – often requiring little more than a blast with a pressure washer. Here's an optional flip-top cap you can "add to car" when shopping for Collinite Insulator Wax No. 845 on the Autogeek.com store. Spreading the wax Because the product is thin but also very WAXY - it spreads out like butter over a hot pancake. That is to say... it spread out EASY!

First and foremost, you want to follow the standard procedure for applying any wax or sealant. Start by claying the vehicle if necessary and then remove any swirls, scratches, water spots, or other imperfections. The test vehicle used for this demonstration is my daily driver, a 6th generation Honda Accord that is meticulously maintained. Because it doesn't need any correction work, and the paint was clayed just one month prior to application of the wax, I went right to the pre-wax polish. Collinite 845 Insulator Wax is best suited for lighter colours and those wanting maximum durability. This wax is an absolute steal and is very easy to apply. One of the most impressive features of Collinite 845 is its longevity. You can easily get 3 to 4 months of use out of one application, with around 7 to 8 washes in that period. When do I use it? After first washing and drying paint in new condition or after first doing any claying and paint correction to older cars. Application is easy enough, but it is worth standing this in hot water for a few minutes before you use as it can harden. No problem though, and once it’s been sat it because liquid again.

It gives a deep, glossy finish to the paint and this is why it’s a game-changer for me. The looks are pretty much unrivalled and the closest link that I’ve tested is the Swissvax Best of Show, which is about 10x the price. Collinite 845 Insulator Wax is one of the finest heavy duty liquid wax's you can buy. Collinite 845 insulator wax was originally developed over 75 years ago to help protect electrical power companies against electrical issues, fires and explosions - If it stands up to these conditions, Imagine what protection it offers your paint...
