The unit works on a refillable gas bottle or CADAC's Power Pak and comes with a convenient carry bag for easy portability and storage, making it ideal for whatever outdoor activity your heart desires. Don't know if this has been discussed before, apologies if it has but, it might be worth mentioning again.

Our first test was a litre of water, which took eight minutes to boil with a slight wind. A windbreakmakes a difference. Campingaz are a massive brand and so they were never going to let Cadac monopolize the gas BBQ camping sector. With the Campingaz Party Grill 400 CV grill stove they’ve pulled a blinder. In use, a thermostatic temperature controller is plugged into the edge of the hotplate and we like the safety aspect of this – without the hotplate properly fitted in place, there is no way of connecting the controller. A dome lid is also provided which can cover the food and allow temperatures of >200°C to be reached. It looks the business too!Form into burger shapes –as big or as small as you like and fry on the Cadac’s smooth frying surface in hot oil till golden and crispy on the outside. At their simplest, a gas stove can just be a small metal stand that can attach directly to the gas bottle, but you also need to remember that wind deflectors and heat exchangers can be a godsend if you are camping in challenging conditions. Gas canisters usually clip or screw onto the stove. They’re small, lightweight and don’t leak. If we do go with the grillogas it comes in two varieties the BBQ Dome or the reversible, i am leaning towards the reversible but is this wise would i be better buying the BBQ Dome and purchasing the reversible plate as an optional extra, interested to hear from end users with some experience of these and also some info on gas sources. Propane is easy to get hold of and burns well but liquid fuel performs better at low temperatures. Liquid fuel canisters are usually connected via a hose to the stove and are refillable. We like stoves that feature a Piezo-igniter (a push-button starter) as it’s useful if you forget to bring matches along. Once lit, some stoves burn with a blue light while others make a roaring noise.

The side-tables take a bit of fixing into place with wing-nuts and we wouldn’t trust them with anything very heavy – certainly not a large saucepan of food.Built with a tough powder coated steel lid and body and incorporating a thermoplastic base, this Cadac 2 Cook 3 Pro Deluxe cooker is designed to withstand the rigours of camping, caravan or motorhome trips and holidays. Windshield protection and stable feet The 400 CV is designed to take the Campingaz ‘easy clic’ valve cannisters like the CV470, so you don’t need a hose and regulator – this simplifies the operation a bit. but costs a bit more than the standard 400 which does need a regulator.
