About this deal

With a different colored paper, cut out a body and head and glue to the outside of the butterfly. Glue on some googly eyes. I love the look of the .8 size gel pens (which is what I use in this tutorial), but any size pen will work. Your design will look a little different depending on your pen size. Cutting Machine

We just love our butterfly punch it makes it so easy and uniform to punch out many at once! It’s a great tool for fine motor skills too. If you would like to use your Cricut Explore or Maker to score your Mother’s Day cards for you (recommended), follow the steps below. Watch the video in this post to see how to make this pretty butterfly art. INSTRUCTIONS Step 1. Print out our template Step 2. Size your child’s photo and cut around so it will fit nicely on the bottom left of photo. Ours was around 3″ Glue that down. Step 3. Use your butterfly punch to cut out many colored butterflies Step 4. It helps to arrange your butterflies first and THEN glue down one by one. Step 5. Give to mom as a card or hang up inside a shadow box for art! We have plenty of other Mother’s Day resources for you to use alongside this butterfly Mother’s Day card. They are fantastic for adding a special personalised touch to gifts for the special people in children’s lives. You can find a few of our favourites below.

There is a really cute poem you can add to it also (print off and add an insert card or hand write and include inside the card): Step 4: Fold the card in half again along the crease and carefully smash the paint in between the two paper halves to transfer the paint all over your paper. Open up your paper to inspect it and decide if more smashing needs to be done. You will want to make sure children don’t use too much paint or get too close to the edge of the paper or it will seep out when you smash your card closed. Let's first assemble the sliced envelope. Grab the three half-circle pieces (one with cutouts, and two without), one rectangle, and two side pieces. To Assemble the cards, take the card with the butterfly design, and glue the card blank behind the card with the cutout.

This not only makes a gorgeous card but you could also place it in shadow box and hang up as art for years to come! Text On Inside of Card Says: "Hope every moment of your special day creates memories that will last a lifetime. Happy Mother's Day" Get our new Mother's Day Card and your choice of our world famous, wind up flying butterfly. You get both for one super low price! To assemble the card with the slots, all you need is an insert card which you can grab from a JOANN store. Or you can make your own insert card and put it behind the front of the card and slide the corners through the slots. Assemble Envelopes Making homemade cards is such a fun activity for any age. You can make a unique greeting card for every possible occasion like celebrations, birthdays, holidays, anniversaries or simply just to brighten someone’s day unexpectedly and let them know you are thinking of them.

What is a Mother's Day poem?

Text On Front of Card Says: " For a Beautiful mother on Mother's Day. This is the perfect day to say how grateful I am to have such a loving and wonderful Mom like you." Now trace your child’s hand as shown below, so that the wrist is on the fold side (when cut out you’ll get a mirrored hand).

Mother’s Day is around the corner and handmade Mother’s Day cards are one of the most special gifts you can give mom! We love this personalized Mother’s Day Butterfly Art because it’s personalized with your child’s photo.

Teaching about the latest events?

Step 10: Turn the butterfly around to the other side of the wings. Add glue to that side of the wings at the bottom and glue the other side of the body to the wings, fully connecting the butterfly body and wings together. Teachers and educators could use this card in the classroom to help children prepare cards for their mothers or other special people in their lives. Alternatively, this butterfly Mother’s Day card could also be used at home. Decorate the handprint wings. We have made these cards with pom poms as shown and also with fingerprint painted spots. You could also do rhinestones, craft foam or any other craft decoration for the wings. Mother’s Day Presentation. This colourful PowerPoint includes lots of information about the celebration of Mother’s Day, including its history. It is a great way to help children understand why we celebrate Mother’s Day.

Your butterfly now becomes a card. Simply open up the wings to reveal the message on the inside. You can personalize the butterfly card further by writing additional messaging on the inside of the card. Step 7: Open up the butterfly body and run scissors along the front of the antennae to help them curl forward a bit. You can also use your fingers to curl them slightly. Of course you can make up your own quote and don’t need to use our printable. We just like to make it as easy as possible when we can 🙂 What this does is it cuts the top layer out of the bottom layer leaving you with a card that now has the butterfly design cutout and slots for an insert card.
