It didn't live up to its summary blurb. Little to no emotional depth or character developement. The writing was very basic. Some words and phrasing used were just plain strange. I do not care enough about this world to continue the series. He couldn't hide the truth from his parents as much as they might have wished things might have been different.

I really liked Jace in the first book. Not so much in the first half of this book. To turn Bri against him, he’s downright hateful. And then gets caught by Bri with another woman. Not such a great guy then. But he has his reasons. His serious “daddy” issues. He does turn his attitude around and is great from then on. Falls hard for both Bri and Hayden. G. atlanticus feeds on other pelagic creatures, including the Portuguese man o' war and other venomous siphonophores. This sea slug stores stinging nematocysts from the siphonophores within its own tissues as defence against predators. Humans handling the slug may receive a very painful and potentially dangerous sting. Sammy has been around since the first book. Popping in and out to help the dragons and their mates. As the clan witch she provides protection for the dragons, cloaking their territory to allow them to fly, putting up wards to keep other super naturals out. Offering up her own special brand of snark and attitude. Some have said she is the reason so many dragons in Bluewater have found their fated mates. Every gurl is sooo hurt the dragon shifter "lied" and didn't reveal he was a dragon upon first meeting 🙄. Yeah, perfectly legitimate reason to be mad. Then every dragon shifter has to disappear and that makes the girl so mad and doubtful that the magical mate bond got it wrong and dude doesn't love her🙄.

However there was still the pieces of himself that he still hasn't shared with Skye and he really wasn't sure how she would react when he did because the last thing he'd ever wanted would be for her to run from him. By the time you’ve figured out who is who and how deep hate can run, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter!
