About this deal

The V6050 has a big chassis and we’re surprised there’s nothing more complex here than a pair of forward-facing speakers made up of tweeters and mid/bass cones. The sides of the projector, which could have been used to shoot out more sound, house the large vents that keep this UST cool and generally running fairly quietly. In the brightest image mode (Bright), the meter stops at approximately 2,390 lumens, a very good result. If we look at the Cinema image mode, it drops to 1,530 lumens, which is still sufficient for a 120-inch screen in ambient light. If we put the lamp in eco mode, the light output in Cinema drops to 880 lumens, just enough for a 100 inch screen. While this projector is very bright, you need to manage your expectations. Any projector is going to struggle in a room with a lot of ambient light, so the darker you can make the environment, the better the projected image. In addition, no projector can compete with a TV in terms of HDR’s peak highlights, where the latter is simply brighter and more precise.

BenQ CinematicColor™ technology utilizes optimal colors to bring out accurate and enhanced images. The V6000 reaches 98% of DCI-P3 color space providing accurate color performance. HDR Realism Projector- Optimized HDR with HDR10 & HLG

V6000 – Sound quality

You move the projector left or right to centre the image, and there are adjustable feet to level it.There's a test pattern to help you setup the image, and while focus is automatic, in the Installation sub-menu is a motorised focus control for fine tuning. You can choose between different projector positions, and there's a keystone correction control, which is best avoided because the processing and scaling robs the image of fine detail. Producing 4K UHD 3840x2160 resolution with 8.3 million distinct pixels for each frame, the V6000 reduces pixel blur for awe-inspiring clarity and crisply defined fine details. Wide Colour Range BenQ CinematicColor technology utilises optimal colours to bring out accurate and enhanced images. The V6000 reaches 98% of DCI-P3 (and 96% Rec.709) colour space providing accurate colour performance. With a projection ratio of 0.25, this BenQ V6000 projector is really very close to the wall. A 100 inch image requires the projector to be barely 22 cm from the wall, for the smallest possible image, 70 inches, it is as little as 7 cm. In the latter case, it may be a bit more difficult to connect the HDMI cables.

BenQ exclusive HDR-PRO™ technology enhances the 4K HDR viewing experience. HDR-PRO offers greater contrast range to bring out every detail. The auto HDR color mapping produces deep colors true to the HDR10 and HLG* standards, pulling you into the emotion of every scene. Motion Interpolation (MEMC)BenQ aren't the only manufacturer offering this type of product, with Samsung, LG, Optoma and VAVA all joining this burgeoning market. All these projectors tend to follow the same basic approach: ultra-short-throw lens, laser light source, and DLP chipset with support for 4K and HDR10. All the same, this still offers something beyond most traditional home cinema projectors, making the V6050 a viable evening alternative for your main living space. The sunroof on the top of the V6000 automatically closes when the projector is not in use, avoiding dust build-up and exposing the lens. When in use the roof will open automatically.

Equipped with industry-leading 10 watt front channel speakers, the V6000 is supported by treVolo, offering true tone sound for complete immersion. treVolo is a professional speaker brand from BenQ. Integrated Screen Size Measuring Tool Connections: 2x HDMI (2.0, ARC), 3x USB (1x media, 1x optional WiFi, 1x power supply), 1x optical digital out, 1x RS-232cMore care is required while calibrating colour. There are a fair few colour controls to consider – Color Enhancer, Flesh Tone, Color Temperature, Brilliant Color and Wide Color Gamut as well as the standard colour setting. That makes for a lot of permutations, but we get the best results with the Wide Color Gamut turned off, the Cool temperature preset, and a light touch on the Brilliant Color filter. Lamp life results will vary depending on environmental conditions and usage. Actual product’s features and specifications are subject to change without notice. While a conventional projector requires most of the room to create a large image, this ultra short-throw model can do the same while only centimetres from the wall. BenQ even includes a pair of pull-out measuring rulers that show how far away from the wall you need to be for different screen sizes. The V6050 is capable of producing an image from 70 to 120 inches in size (diagonally). The BenQ V6050 has a built-in treVolo sound system based around a pair of high-quality speakers, each with 10W of amplification. It sounds good for a projector, which makes sense given its ambitions as an alternative to a TV. The V6050 goes quite loud and has a solid midrange, plus you also get a choice of audio modes – Standard, Cinema, Music, Game and Sport. These all sound fairly similar, and in general the Standard mode is the best choice with minimal processing.
