About this deal

This is another one I found recently and postponed publishing the blog post so I could test it out for a few days. I got this one because I wanted to review another battery-operated spinner, and it’s from BeadSmith, which is a well-known name in the beading world. They do also have manual bead spinners. Okay, another no-brand bead spinner. Multiple companies purchasing the same or similar model from a manufacturer and putting their own name on it. Some are selling them in different colors. But is it a good bead spinner?

Flexibility: Battery-powered spinners provide flexibility in terms of where and how you work. You’re not tied to a specific location or power source, allowing you to work comfortably in various settings.

How to use a Bead Spinner

Bead spinners come in a range of price point. Look for options that offer the features you need within your budget. Be mindful that more expensive models may have additional features, accessories and durability advantages. There are different types of bead spinners available in the market, and selecting the right one depends on your needs and preferences. Some of the most common types of bead spinners are:

For that reason, we recommend choosing a battery-powered bead spinner over an electric mains-powered product. Here are some reasons to consider a battery-powered bead spinner over a mains powered device: If you’re looking for a great selection of bead spinners, Beads N Crystals has you covered. From small basic economy spinners, to powered deluxe spinner electric model with multiple bowls, wooden bead spinners and more, we have the bead spinners you’re looking for. Spare bead spinner needles are also available and a handy thing to have in your beading kit. How to choose a bead loom The powered bead spinner is by far our favourite spinner as it includes all the accessories you could possibly need while also offering the most user-friendly bead threading experience ever! It’s an absolute must for serious seed beaders!Choose the right size of beads: Bead spinners are available in different sizes. Therefore, ensure that you select a suitable size of beads that can fit in your bead spinner. Beads looms come in a number of different styles which offer different functionality depending on the type of beading you want to do. We’ve put together this guide to help you decide what bead loom to buy.

BeadSmith Large Bead Loom – This is essentially the same as the loom above, but it’s bigger. Make longer and wider creations with the larger space this loom allows. It also includes threads and seed beads along with basic instructions to get you started.I talked to few people and finally decided to try it. So, did it work? Was it worth the investment? Always use the right size or type of beads to spin. Using beads that are too large can make the spinner stop working, and using beads that are too small can cause the beads to bunch up.

Ultimately, choose a bead spinner that feels comfortable in your hand and suits your personal preferences in terms of design and ergonomics. Personally, I have found the little plastic spinners don’t spin very smoothly. So, this is really unhelpful when you are trying to get a flow of beads going. Wooden spinners feel nicer. However, for electric spinners it’s mostly an aesthetics thing, and doesn’t really change the way it works. While wood feels more durable and higher quality than plastic, we’re still dealing with a motor that won’t last forever anyways. Be sure to keep the thread taut while spinning to avoid bunching, tangling, or knots that may appear later. Well, there is really only one definitive rule for learning how to use a bead spinner… Practise, practise, practise!

Avoid Voltage Fluctuations: In areas with unreliable or fluctuating power supplies, battery-powered spinners provide a consistent and stable power source, ensuring that your work is not interrupted by power outages or voltage fluctuations. Smaller bowls are better if you have a small project and not enough beads to reach halfway up a large bowl. You can also consider the size of your beads. The product does take practice, even once you get the right angle on the needle. I recommend working on a bead mat. It's inevitable that you'll hit the side of the bowl with the tip of the needle and send beads spraying out of the bowl. Reduced Maintenance: Battery-powered spinners generally require less maintenance compared to electric mains-powered models. There are no cords to worry about, and you don’t need to be concerned about electrical components or wiring issues, and battery motors don’t require periodical oiling.
