About this deal

Tip 2: Break the grid up visually into 3 columns and 3 rows. Each large column will have 3, 3×3 grids and each row will have 3, 3×3 grids. Now, look for columns or grids that have 2 of the same number. Logically, there must be a 3rd copy of the same number in the only remaining 9-cell section. Look at each of the remaining 9 positions and see if you can find the location of the missing number.

These are fiendish! I have sometimes found help from the following. Where three numbers which are all different add to a circle, there are only seven combinations, adding to between 6 and 9. All but one of them contain '1'. If you look at the sample image, and sample solution particularly, it will help you to see how the arrows work: the number in the circled cell is the sum of the numbers along the path; thus if there is a 2 and a 3 along the path of an arrow of length two, then the circled cell contains 5, given 2 + 3 = 5, and so on. One of the most interesting elements of solving arrow sudoku is that the circle cell and the path of the arrow interact - by updating the options for one you may find you can update the options for the other, and then those can again be used to update the circled cell. Your solving tips are good, although I'd worked those out for myself, and still haven't finished one!Answer String: Enter the row/column marked “A”, followed by a comma, followed by the row/column marked “B”. Rows are entered from left to right and columns from top to bottom. This example has the key “351876294,617354928”. To enter a pencil mark, press control, shift, or alt on your keyboard at the same time as pressing a number key. If you have done, then the chances are that you buy the i newspaper on Saturday, and if so you'll be familiar with the striking visual of this puzzle, as per the image at right: Sudoku is a fun puzzle game once you get the hang of it. At the same time, learning to play Sudoku can be a bit intimidating for beginners. So, if you are a complete beginner, here are a few Sudoku tips that you can use to improve your Sudoku skills. It can take a while to start placing numbers with arrow sudoku as you go about working out the various options for each cell, but once you get going the puzzle soon builds momentum and there is lovely solving interplay between the arrows and their values and the standard sudoku rules.

In addition to the standard Sudoku rules of every row, column, and 3×3 region containing the numbers 1 to 9 once and only once each, Arrow Sudoku only has one additional rule. I've finished off the 2 issues of Arrow Sudoku Magazine. Any chance of some more being produced please?is an achievement. Thank goodness they're not in the i (a great newspaper!) every day. I'd never get anything else done! History of this example: This Arrow Sudoku was written by Thomas Snyder for the 2010 Hungarian Sudoku Championship. There are two ways to play a Sudoku puzzle, you can just use the mouse/touchscreen, or you can use the mouse and keyboard. The circle at the top of each arrow contains a number that is the sum of the numbers that appear along the body of the arrow, ending in the square with the arrow head.
