About this deal

While Shaghaf Oud is much more artificial and synthetic, Resala remains soft. Like a good cashmere scarf that you wrap around yourself before a nice walk in the woods, knowing that it's fall outside. Delox doesn’t have any issues with the longevity or projection. It’s an absolute powerhouse! However there is something in that scent, like the montale and mancera that bothers me, it’s just a little bit too harsh for my liking. As of today, I am the happy owner of a full and beautiful bottle that comes in one of the most beautiful presentations I have seen so far in perfumes.

In particular, the durability and sillage are very similar to both whereby the Resala me still clearly finer and more rounded seems what could be due to the chocolate. I have to say out of all of them this one is my favourite and I plan to get this when I finish my bottle of ristretto intense cafe. A clean rose-oud: earthy woods with a hint of spice and a slightly medicinal lift, plus rose, with the saffron sharpening that spicy edge. The famed chocolate note is really just a dusting of cocoa powder on top, adding a delectable sweet touch that is unmistakably chocolate but merely accents an otherwise basic rose-oud scent profile. A warm, creamy vanilla smooths everything out in the base without imparting much of its own flavor. Nuclear initial blast, and very strong for the first hour, but settles to something more moderate and steadily fades over 3-4hr. Longevity 10-12hr. The discovery of this fragrance was different from my typical store stroll. The atmosphere of the Arabian Oud shop on the Champs-Élysées is great. I loved the direct approach of the personnel too: I was given a lot of different fragrance to smell in a short time without a lot of fuss about philosophy. Despite me being a lover of narrative and story-telling in the context of fragrances, that's exactly what I was expecting from the brand: an easy to navigate repertoire with strong, statement-making fragrances. The offerings I was given were a bit similar to one another despite the fact that I was told that Resala was "different" and "on its own" but I must say I loved all of them and all of these different shades of Vanilla.

After being a big fan of gourmand fragrances and constantly trying to find THE ONE fragrance for me, I stumbled across Resala by Arabian Oud during my search. As this fragrance was the reason why I registered here in the first place, this will also be my first review. Now about the scent, when I first sprayed it on it was like a duel for me. I love my Aventus, Virgin Island Water and of course especially my Layton. But what came here has the potential to put many to shame.

the opening is lovely, the Ozone and Orange is very unique, but will fade away after minutes to leave the space for the Caramel to dominate. It's a classy well made fragrance. that even if you will not consider it for yourself you will like it.

There are subtle differences between all these scents but rosewood doesn’t have that strange metallic harsh base that both montales and the mancera have. So I started with Shaghaf Oud by Swiss Arabian. It was said to be very similar to Resala. I admit: now that I know both fragrances, I have to say that this is true to a certain extent. But they are only very similar.

In the opening, the saffron and a fruity rose comes through clearly, after about 1h the saffron slowly says goodbye and to the rose joins a very discreet vanilla just enough to give the rose something gourmandiges, which then lasts so 5-6h while very slowly from behind more and more the chocolate creeps up to then for an eternity with the rose and the oud to create a heavenly melange. Delicious blend of creamy vanilla and a sweet rose with just a hint of oud to balance out the sweetness. I personally can’t detect anything animalic in here. It’s a cold weather gourmand dream! I’ve owned bottles of intense cafe, ristretto intense cafe, roses vanille, k’bridge club and Delox and my sample of rosewood has arrived today.

Andalusi

Through this fragrance I will probably deal a little more intensively with the fragrances of Arabian Oud. The fragrance starts incredibly sweet and soft in the opening. I also smell oud here, but it's very pleasant. Not synthetic, not pungent. Just a little woody. Saffron forms a wonderful counterpart to the sweetness that flows around me and makes the whole thing a little more bitter. Unarguably, one of the best rose oud scents in the market. The price tag makes it even a better bargain than a lot of scents with the same profile. What really distinguishes this scent from many others is the presence of chocolate making it a delectable oriental perfume. The opening is a burst of saffron, and a few seconds afterward the rose-oud becomes the dominant notes. The chocolate stays from the beginning to the end.
