About this deal

A15 channel drainage systems are designed for pedestrian use, and offer great drainage solutions for pavements, patios and gardens. They can hold a maximum weight of 1.5 tonnes and are often crafted from plastic, making them easy to install and cheap to fit. ACO DoorWay drain is very similar to ACO Threshold drain except it’s wider and so will be more effective at preventing water from running into a property. If your entry pathway is at a slight slope running toward the house, it may be worth installing ACO DoorWay drain to prevent any water ingress.

This is the same as ‘channel’ drainage and often used interchangeably. The term is typically used to emphasise the difference over the more traditional ’point drains’. This is significant as linear systems tend to offer economic benefits over point drainage as a result of reduced underground piping and easier construction that results from the elimination of complicated falls or levels. The HexDrain Sump Unit is designed to be installed in conjunction with either the corner unit or the outlet connector to provide a “catch pit” and a horizontal outlet connection onto 110mm diameter PVC-U underground pipe. If you require a horizontal outlet rather than a vertical connection the sump unit should be used, the sump unit simply connect onto the 110mm diameter spigot at the bottom of the corner unit. To allow the water to enter the sump unit please ensure the internal base of the corner unit has been removed. To outlet from the sump unit simply cut the blank plate off the outlet point and connect to 110mm diameter PVC-U underground pipe. If installed in conjunction with the corner unit you will have maximum access to the sump unit through the 110mm diameter hole in the top to allow for easy removal of silt and general debris by hand. The channel is longer than it is wide with a cross sectional dimension design to contain the flow from the associated surface surrounding the installation. The channel body can bemanufactured from Polymer Concrete, Plastic or Steel. This is a term that is often incorrectly used referring the broad family of ‘Channel’ systems. While it is a ‘channel system’ with a surface element and an underlying channel component, it differs in that the surface interface is defined by a discrete slot as opposed to a grating. This can be utilised by designers for aesthetic benefit without the need to compromise on the drainage capacity. It is also used in areas subject to heavy loading where it is important to eliminate moveable parts (Qmax is an example of this). As with channel systems the materials can vary from polymer concrete to plastic and steel. Because channels tends to be less deep than other systems it is particularly well suited when constructing drainage in areas with complex underground services and utilities. For this reason the term linear is used to emphasise the surface nature of channel drainage Trench drain ACO RainDrain is another ACO drainage application favourite. Having specially developed a lightweight concrete, Vienite, using recycled polymer, ACO can offer RainDrain as a fantastic option for domestic drainage. The strong, stable base is a great foundation for the galvanised steel grating that comes with ACO RainDrain. This is the generic term for linear systems that incorporate a channel together with an inlet detail that is embedded in the constructed surface.

Use an outlet to connect this grating to the underground drainage of the property and this ACO channel drain will function without you ever knowing it’s there. ACO DoorWay Drain

When installed with either of the options shown above the outlet spigot from the sump unit would have an invert depth of 285mm from finished ground level.
