Overall I appreciated the ideas behind this book, showing the dark and negative side to being a fated mate. It was refreshing as it was sad to see male and female wolves being rejected by their mates and going through that process to try and accept their life knowing their fated one didn’t want them. Dandelion is a boss weapon which you will upgrade your Tuvala weapon into. It is a great weapon for PVX. I really enjoyed getting the perspectives from her childhood to adulthood. I thought the author gave her a strong voice in both and her scenes were full of emotion and a good story.

There are some problems with the players: Cara’s wolf is too tragic a character and when it is time for her wolf to come to the fore as a heroine in her own right (unfortunately, not in this book), her potential for recovery is not believable. Avery has away of creating a world where you fall in love with the characters and are drawn into the story that is full of magic, mystery, suspense and betrayal.
