About this deal

The Holiday 7, Chic and Ultra Lite lines are crowd-favourite luggage ranges offered by the retailer that top our list for size, durability, affordability and conservative looks. While we feel that Tripp suitcases are a great option in their price point, Tripp suitcases aren’t built to last decades. Among the top issues, customers seem to have are faulty wheels and faulty handles, both of which are pretty important to jet-setters and train catchers. If luggage with a hard exterior just isn’t your thing, Tripp offers soft suitcases, too. Our favourite is the Ultra Lite range.

Hey, what brand is perfect? After researching and testing out some Tripp luggage, here are a few things to note before you hop on the Tripp train. This likely won’t be your last suitcase ever The retractable handle can be a bit stiff to extend and retract, and it doesn’t come out as far as other suitcases we’ve tried in the past. That said, at this size you hopefully won’t have to drag it too far. Tripp Holiday 6 suitcase: The verdict While we haven't yet tested the newest iteration, our in-house reviewer is fond of the Holiday 6 range having had this to say: ‘This set is great for longer trips. It’s lightweight making it easy to carry and it handles travel well – even going up and down stairs.’ TRIPP is one of the most popular luggage brands in the UK and they are known for their budget-friendly suitcases. Here are all the ways in which Tripp shines. From customer service to design, there’s a lot to love about the brand. Affordable luggage is easy to come by The Tripp Holiday 6 is instantly recognisable Credit: Tripp Tripp Holiday 6 suitcase: Key features and specifications No suitcase is indestructible, so we appreciate that Tripp offers a five-year guarantee with all of its suitcases and bags. While this won’t work for normal wear and tear or any damage at the hands of an airline, it does mean that if there is a manufacturer defect that presents a problem, you’re able to exchange the suitcase. A solid range of colours and styles

Whether you’re flying EasyJet, Lufthansa, British Air or Ryanair, Tripp tells you upfront which of its cabin bags are best suited for what airline. In fact, its new and improved Holiday 7 Cabin Suitcase is suitable for Ryanair Priority, EasyJet Up Front and British Airways to name a few.If you want cutting-edge design and feature upon feature, Tripp might not suit you. But if you're after good-quality, affordable bags, your search may just be over. Before the Holiday 7 line hit the scene, Tripp's predecessor, the Holiday 6 range, was consistently among the retailer's top-rated suitcases for us and people across the UK. In other words, the new and improved line has big shoes to fill, but we're already liking what we've seen. It looks stylish too; and, unless everyone else buys a Tripp suitcase after reading this, they’re pretty easy to spot at an airport. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing; a bit of give in the shell actually means the case is less likely to be damaged when it bumps into things or is thrown around by baggage handlers. Historically, the Best Buys team has been most swayed by the Holiday 6 line but we're eager to try out the Holiday 7 range. And while we’re very tempted by the sleek, slightly updated look of the Chic range, the Holiday range still takes the top spot.

What makes the design so distinctive is the instantly recognisable pattern on the front - squares with rounded corners, arranged in a four by six pattern - which is the same regardless of the size and colour of the case. And while it’s not the cheapest option around, it has a lot of features that you would usually find on premium suitcases without the associated price tag.In fact, if you shop any of the three ranges we’ve raved about above, you can get an entire three-piece set for less than you’d spend on Away’s The Bigger Carry-On. As for the wheels, they are perfectly adequate on smooth floors but when you get it out on the carpet or on bumpy pavement, it does occasionally struggle. Hitting the highlights you’d expect from the brand's cases — four wheels, a spacious interior and a retractable handle — it’s Tripp's most no-nonsense line of luggage. And we respect it.

Made from lightweight polypropylene, it will protect your belongings whether you’re travelling short or long haul without helping you to go over your weight allowance. It’s not going to last you forever, but if you don’t travel frequently you should get a few years’ use out of it. Cabin: measures 55 x 40 x 20cm, has a 37L capacity, and weighs 2.7kg. This size is suitable as carry-on luggage for British Airways (and most international airlines), EasyJet Up Front and Ryanair Priority.Compared to other large suitcases, this one is pretty much in the middle in terms of size and capacity but it’s definitely one of the lightest options around.
