The three waves of volunteers are souls who began coming to earth around 1945 to positively influence humanity. Their ultimate goal is to save the planet and assist people in their healing, so more people are equipped to move with the earth into the next age. Each wave, depending on the time frame of their arrival, has unique characteristics, though they all share certain fundamental desires and an overarching mission. This fact makes it extremely difficult for people from the three waves of volunteers to adjust to life. Our world seems chaotic, harsh and destructive. In is certainly true that those of us who have experienced adverse childhood experiences are more prone to intense feelings, depression, anxiety, stress and disconnection from fellow humans. Karma First-wave volunteers find the customs and ways of doing things on earth to be strange and unnecessary, even barbaric, at times. They try very hard to adapt—and to varying degrees, they're able to —but there are always parts of earth's culture that seem unfailingly daunting and confusing. This can lead a first-waver to feel as if they're somehow inherently flawed and maladaptive and then, naturally, as ifthey don't belong. These volunteers often have trouble finding their tribe, which can create a sense of loneliness and isolation, further solidifying their strong desire to return home. It is amazing to me that all this information is so consistent. In a court room when you get multiple witnesses testifying to some fact, the jury will tend to believe that it must be true. This Reality that these other worldly sources are describing is a Reality that is far beyond any SciFi that I have ever read. Basically it is the ultimate case of Reality being stranger than fiction.

I won't even say I don't believe it, but I don't think it's helpful. You've got these SCs telling Dolores to focus on the here and now, to work on the Self, and not to worry about what's going to happen. Then you've got the author obsessed with this Rapture-like splitting of Earth. What, I would ask her, were she still alive, is the purpose? This is the fourth book of hers I've read; the earlier were much earlier in her career. And I see this same strange fascination with "the end times." Quoting Revelations, like it means something. At first when I started to read, I was quite enthusiastic. "Now this explains many things" - I told to myself. I am quite a typical Second Wave Alien, as described in this book. I like that idea about anxious/sensitive volunteers from outside. But as I was reading further, the more I got the sense of confusion - it didn't stich together. And also deception - What, dinosaurs!? Alien implants are ok and harmless, oh really? .... And everything so easy to digest and sugarcoated, just as junky doughnut. Disappointing: The book has little structure or narrative, it’s presented as a succession of interviews of subjects in an altered state of consciousness. It has a number of contradictions: you don’t need to learn anything, but you leave because you need to learn. Helpers choose not to have children, but some have children as part of their mission, etc. It has the same closeness with reality as Don Quixote and the author wouldn’t bother to link any of the information with any theory or fact (assuming her readers won’t demand that?). I can understand no one comes to this book looking for literature or scientific value so, up until here, I could still consider it a tolerable disappointment. This book absolutely shattered the fabric of my reality. When reading the exposition of this book and the concept of the three waves of volunteers I wept for hours on a plane. It felt like a fundamental truth held within my very soul had been revealed. Something I'd known for an eternity but long forgotten. In 1945 when the atomic bombs dropped, our "protectors" and "watchers" in outer space saw that Earth was on a collision course with disaster. The prime directive of non-interference prevented them from taking any action, but then they came up with a brilliant plan to save Earth and assist her in her ascension. They couldn't interfere from the "outside," but maybe they could influence from the "inside." So the call went out for volunteers to come and help. "Earth is in trouble-who wants to volunteer?" Being highly intuitive, I’m repelled by dishonesty. This has been socially and professionally inconvenient.
