About this deal

In the woods, the two Whisperers who saved Beta discuss the fact nobody has ever seen his face. One of them goes to remove his mask and Beta stabs him in the head before passing out. Beta finds Alpha's headless corpse. Some other Whisperers mention how Negan isn't around to claim his title. Beta says he would never allow him to become the alpha, but also that he himself does not intend to claim the role. He doesn't want there to be another alpha ever - they will be guided by her words. Essentially, they use her death as an excuse to kill all who oppose them. Fillari, Alessandro (April 6, 2019). "Telltale Devs Open Up About Finishing The Walking Dead And Leaving A Legacy Behind". GameSpot . Retrieved April 6, 2019. At the Hilltop mansion, Andrea is walking around and finds Carl having sex with Lydia, who appears to be feeling his eye. A stunned Andrea doesn't intervene and decides to walk off.

Because of how simple the victory really was for the main group, the Whispers end up seeming like a lesser threat than the Saviors were in Compendium Three. Which ultimately makes a boring story; the reader anticipates increasingly more difficult threats over time. At the end of the altercation, the leader of the Whisperers, Beta, has still not been eliminated. This should’ve indicated the conflict wasn’t over; moreover, that it had only just begun. The group travelling to Ohio arrives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which at this point seems like a ghost town. They settle down for the night around the camp fire, and while the females of the group are talking, Siddiq confesses to Eugene that Rosita loved him. Eugene stares in anger. But I didn't like the last issue with the giant time-skip. That ruins a bit the magic. Seeing everyone old, doing their things, the walkers becoming circus animals, Maggie's son becoming a spoiled brat, and Carl's trial were pretty uninteresting. I didn't care about that, why show me? Vincent arrives at the Sanctuary, trying to persuade The Saviors to fight with them. Tara, John, and Sherry disagree before asking him to go, but tell him to leave the horse behind. The story is worth a read, but particularly satisfying is the flash-forward that occurs at the end of the major tale. We get to see what the world looks like a couple of decades in the future, and whether that's a happy ending. The story of Tyreese, along with his daughter, Julie and her boyfriend, Chris, in the early days of the outbreak. Later that day Negan has dug a grave for Lucille. He apologizes for not burying her before and says he will always miss her, and that he is sorry for naming a baseball bat after her. Dwight calls out and tells him they will leave him behind, and Negan says he will catch up. And also, they will find soon enough that zombies may be deadly, but men are evil. Zombies aren’t guilty of their actions, men are quite aware of theirs.

At the Hilltop, Carl introduces himself to Joshua. He asks if Joshua's parents are inside with Maggie, and Joshua confirms, saying that she's making sure they're not too crazy to live at the Hilltop. Joshua reassures Carl that they never liked the Whisperers, and were simply scared. Carl is happy to hear that Joshua and his parents aren't crazy, and offers to show Joshua around. Joshua states that he likes it at the Hilltop, and wants to stay. He asks if it's safe at the community, to which Carl replies that it is most of the time. On the perimeter, Carl tells the Hilltop residents to gather their weapons because they need to help the others. Lydia smiles at him. I've been reading The Walking Dead since well before the TV show began. I finally finished the last issue last week. I won't post a spoiler, but Kirkman ended the series well, on a dramatic and unexpected bookend, and a satisfactory denouement.

On the front lines, Negan complains about not having any weapons and teases Dwight about Sherry. Laura approaches and warns that a large group of Whisperers are headed their way, and Dwight wonders why Gabriel did not signal.

A couple of roamers approach and, instead of killing them, he pushes them to the ground and runs off. If these questions interest you more than simple zombie killing, The Walking Dead will make you very happy. Yes, there are zombie killings aplenty (drawn in super graphic detail, to the point where you probably shouldn't be eating anything while you read this), but the zombies are not the problem here. These aren't 28 Days Later zombies (which, if we're going to get technical, weren't really zombies at all) that are smart and run scary fast. These are slow, dumb, lumbering things that hunt mainly by smell, and whose strategy for finding food is basically to wander around and hope to stumble within grabbing distance of something edible. The zombies in The Walking Dead are not a huge threat. The threat is the people left behind, trying to make a life in this disaster wasteland aftermath. Mercer and Juanita have just had sex, with Juanita joyfully exclaiming that it was the best sex she ever had. Juanita asks whether their relationship is casual or something more. Mercer says he likes to listen to Juanita talk and answers that it's something more, as casual isn't really his style, much to Juanita's joy. The two kiss. Juanita is thankful to have left Pittsburgh, and thinks her life has been getting better every day since then.

Characters would be terrorized by zombies, displaced from their homes by zombies, see friends, loved ones, and coworkers die and then become zombies, but with the exception of some tears and wailing there were no real emotional consequences to zombie-related events that would have to be profoundly traumatic. Inside the house, Sophia lifts Hershel out of his crib just as Maggie and Carl arrive. Maggie tells them to leave, but Carl insists they go and he will make sure the house is clear despite Maggie's resistance. Aaron throws Carl from a window and jumps out after him. Dr Carson arrives and starts trying to resuscitate Carl as Aaron and the rest of The Hilltop residents continue to battle the Whisperers. Carl wakes up as Maggie declares they have won. Eugene and the radio survivor have a deep conversation, and promise to each other not to talk to other survivors about them. Dwight is walking through the streets and is annoyed at the increased number of soldiers. He antagonizes them and also starts riling up the people, telling them that they live in a police state. When one of the soldiers grabs him, Dwight shoves him to the ground. As the solders prepare to arrest Dwight, the people start rallying to his side. Dwight then surrenders, satisfied that his point has been made.
