They had distinct personalities and motivations, with often conflicting points of view. Akshaya Raman did a good job shifting between their four perspectives and providing context for most of their choices. I’m not sure if writing four equally weighted voices created the strongest or most cohesive narrative, but I understand why she made that choice. Focusing on one over the others could bias the reader towards that perspective, and that’s not the story she was trying to tell. The stakes for this story are high, with each character having their own interests and motivations. I never once lost interest in where this was going or what was going to happen.
