Colourful cheeseSoft cheeses have a creamy or spreadable texture and are usually mild in flavour, but some can be more pungent. Putting together a cheese platter just might be the easiest and most impressive appetizer. The best part, anyone can do it and you don’t need a special occasion or holiday to throw one together. Plus the fact that there’s no cooking involved is a good reason on its own!

Keep in mind that you will want this appetizer to be visually appealing when you are making your choices. Think of adding different colors to help brighten up the platter. For example, can add different colored grapes, berries, and/or apples! Sweet, grassy cow’s milk butter stuffed inside a firm, stretched-curd Caciocavallo cheese? Sign me up! That is why today I thought I could share my tips on how to make the best cheese and meat platter with the hopes of giving you some party tray ideas as we approach the holiday season. Additionally, since I always serve it with a variety of wines, I partnered up with Layer Cake wines to share some of my wine, charcuterie, and cheese pairing suggestions to help you as you prepare your own. There are those who love stinky cheese and those whose opinion I don’t respect. Stinky cheese is life. Don’t @ me.For this cheese plate, I opted to fold our charcuterie pieces to help them take up less space since we had a lot to get onto the board.
