About this deal

A fast paced read with a suspenseful plot that keeps you guessing, bringing the series to an explosive conclusion! Definitely does a great job with strong relationship building, great tension, action, suspense, and tying up loose ends with twists I never saw coming. Highly recommend this excellent series, the only bad part was that I had to wait in between each book for the next one. And now you won't have to anymore! And the story. It’s full of threads that criss and cross and you might not be sure how it all interconnects – until you see it. Harris does a masterful job of crafting multiple plot lines and steadily weaving them together into a magnificent whole. This is a very slow burn. In fact, I struggle to describe it. I was almost bored at times, but I HAD to know what happened next.

I really like the pacing of this one; There’s a lot happening but unlike other suspense books I’ve read, everything is not “coincidentally” connected. There were multiple things happening but they didn’t all add up to the same big picture. Which really worked well because we see a couple extra POVs that sometimes give the reader a bit more information than Madison or Jonas has and I enjoyed that element. It kept you on your toes as you were reading. What happened to Natascha Kampusch, and where is Wolfgang Priklopil now? Channel 5 documentary The Girl In The Cellar looks at the true crime case Ryan is perfect, handsome, intelligent, debonair and even plays his guitar to the very ill at his local hospice in his spare time The ending wraps up all loose ends and while I didn’t like the ending too much (as in how it ended) I do think it was the right ending. His brand new novel, THE MOTHER, is a twisty, fast-paced thriller about a woman betrayed and her search for redemption against all the odds. Because if she can't discover who framed her for murder, she will never see her sons again...The action/mystery/suspense aspect kept me guessing and wondering how each piece would unravel to reveal the truth. Not everyone is who you think they are and perhaps those you thought untrustworthy will give you a second chance.

On whether viewers are right to be suspicious of his character Ryan, actor Aneurin Barnard told What To Watch "I love messing with an audience’s perception of what they think they know and there’s a lot of discovering to do, good and bad. It’ll be interesting to see which route you take as a viewer, and who you trust and when. I see Ed as a man who’s in the grip of mental health turmoil. This has a ripple effect on everyone around him and the reactions are fascinating." The author did an excellent job in keeping me on my toes, and uncertain if Ed was losing his grasp on reality or if Ryan was indeed not quite the catch everyone thought he was. This was an addictive read that I raced through. Thank you Random House, and NetGalley, for the chance to read The Catch by Alison Fairbrother. This is a thoughtful, character driven story with strong writing and elegant narrative development; Ellie, early twenties, is coping with the unexpected and sudden loss of her father and trying to understand why her father bequeathed a beloved object to someone unknown to her and her half siblings and step mother (baseball, emblematic of a lot of aspects of Ellie's father and her relationship with him). At the same time she is on this journey the reader is also invited to be a part of Ellie's own development, her struggles as a young journalist, her romantic strains, and her own movement as an independent young adult but one with complex family ties. Abbie continued to find out that at the age of 20, Ryan had married a woman named Lori. However, shortly after their union he was sent to prison for assaulting his wife, and possession of an offensive weapon. While he was inside, Lori began divorce proceedings. However, on Ryan's release, it was no surprise to find Lori had mysteriously gone missing. Abbie makes the decision to confront Ryan about the information the PI had turned up, after the pair had been handing out missing person flyers near the Dark Peak.
