About this deal

This low carb caramel sauce is a delicious and versatile topping that can be used on a variety of desserts or added as a sweetener. Here are some ideas! You must constantly stir the caramel syrup throughout the entire cooking process. Because you are working with butter AND a sweetener, it’s very easy to accidentally burn the mixture. All you need is a sauce pan, a spatula or wooden spoon, and these simple ingredients and you’ll be ready to enjoy your iced or hot beverage sweetened with delicious syrup in no time! Honey is another very healthy syrup and a popular sweetener. Honey is also minimally processed and contains all kinds of healthy minerals and antioxidants. Quality raw, unprocessed honey also contains pollen, which can help with seasonal allergies, especially if you buy your honey locally.

First, mix the water with the erythritol in a saucepan. Place it on medium heat and bring it to a low simmer. You don’t want to boil or reduce this mixture.

Storing and freezing caramel coffee syrup

Add the caramel extract, the vanilla extract, and the salt. Stir to combine all the ingredients. Allow to boil for about 2 additional minutes. Use the right sweetener. I typically recommend Besti in all my recipes, but it’s more crucial for some than others. This sugar free caramel syrup recipe is one where it makes a huge difference. You won’t get the same smooth, gooey texture using another sweetener.

Technically, sugar alcohols are also natural, but because of how they are processed by the body, they belong in a separate category. In our list of 9 best sugar-free syrups, we’ve found the tastiest chocolate, maple, vanilla, hazelnut, caramel, and pumpkin spice syrup as well as the more traditional pancake or maple syrup. If you’re searching for sugar-free alternatives to your favorite sweets, you will likely find a great variety. There are many ways to increase the sweetness of foods, beverages, and, of course, syrup, without using actual sugar. Artificial sweeteners are the most controversial sugar-free option because, while they don’t affect blood glucose levels and have been shown in limited studies to reduce hunger and therefore calorie intake, they’ve also been shown as a potential link to an increased risk of gut health issues and cancer. This syrup is sweetened with sucralose and acesulfame potassium. Like the others on this list, it’s diet-friendly, with zero carbs and no fats. You get a punch of classic caramel flavor with zero sugar and zero calories per serving (serving size is two tablespoons). The rich taste of this syrup also makes it suitable for other purposes, like adding to pie fillings or over oatmeal.

Many sweeteners used in sugar-free syrups are sweeter than regular table sugar. Some like monk fruit and stevia have a distinct taste. A taste that is as subjective as syrup flavors. Allulose– The ONLY sugar free sweetener that will work properly for the syrup. Allulose mimics white sugar and does not crystalize at room temperature. Do not try using erythritol, monk fruit syrup, or Splenda, as the caramel will become gritty. Ice Cream – Caramel always pairs well with classic keto ice cream, but you can also try coconut milk ice cream, almond milk ice cream, or mason jar ice cream. Even if you don’t need this variety of flavors yourself, having other options is convenient if you have guests over. The diversity of possibilities allows you to transform your kitchen into a mini coffee shop. Besti Brown Monk Fruit Allulose Blend – I opted to use the brown version of Besti because I love the flavor of brown sugar. If you prefer, you could make it with crystallized or powdered Besti instead — both will dissolve just like sugar does, and they caramelize beautifully. If you want to use a different keto sugar substitute, keep in mind that most other brands (including erythritol, and most brands of monk fruit or stevia, which typically contain erythritol) will not dissolve well and crystallize upon cooling, leading to a gritty texture and you won’t get the same gooey mouthfeel. If you still want to try it, see my sweeteners conversion chart for exact substitute amounts.

Our Barista range is designed to be added to hot drinks such as Coffee, Tea, and Hot Chocolate and is also great on fruit, baking, shakes, mixers and desserts. As a kid, my favorite thing ever was caramel syrup. I would always add it to frozen desserts and as I grew older, it was my favorite syrup for hot and cold beverages (especially a frappucino or milkshake). When I first started my health journey, it was easy to do, as I switched my typical syrup for their sugar free varieties. Keto brownies: Swirl the caramel sauce into Keto Brownie batter before baking for a sweet and fudgy delight. Within our list of favorite sugar-free syrups, only erythritol makes an appearance. This may be because erythritol is the lowest calorie sugar alcohol.
