Strange Hill High is a British children's puppet-animated series for CBBC. The show is a co-production between CBBC, FremantleMedia and Factory. Described by production company Yoshimi & Katoi as " Grange Hill meets The Muppets in South Park", Strange Hill High is set in a near-forgotten inner-city school where strange is normal. The show follows three friends who take it upon themselves to investigate their school's paranormal, mysterious and other-worldly occurrences. Things have been disappearing at Strange Hill High, and Mitchell finds himself as the prime suspect. Can he clear his name and find out who the real perpetrator is?It's Valentine's Day and whilst attempting to sabotage Abercombie's zero tolerance to romance, our trio discover a portal to the inside the Head's head! What at first seems like the best thing ever soon turns into a nightmare as the bullies gain control of the Headmaster. The only way to stop them is to test the old adage: the heart rules the head. Out of the many writers, it was noted that Josh Weinstein (who worked on The Simpsons, Futurama and Disenchantment) would be involved in the series, [1] with its visuals created using an animation technique combining puppets, Japanese vinyl toys and digital effects.

Emma Kennedy, speaking to the British Comedy Guide, said: "I can honestly say, I have NEVER been more excited about a project. The puppets look incredible and even though it's a show primarily aimed at children it's very clear from the work shop days we've done already that it's going to have the same sort of appeal as Simpsons/ South Park/ Family Guy. It's extremely ambitious. I think it has the potential to be huge." The best thing about it is its sense of energy and fun. I love the puppets, the sets are incredible and the storylines are incredibly inventive." When the trio gets tossed into detention on a snowy day, they're put in charge of cleaning the old and cramped Science Room. While cleaning, they discover a device that soon takes things out of proportion.Mitchell accidentally erases himself from history after deleting his school record. At first his anonymity is fun but when his friends forget him and he starts to disappear, he calls on Samia, the one person who can remember him, to help reboot his existence. Writing on the series is being headed by Josh Weinstein, a former executive producer and writer of The Simpsons and Futurama. Emma Kennedy, Ben Teasdale, Georgia Pritchett and two American writers are scripting the show. Filming is set to begin later this year. The show follows the trio as they explore Strange Hill High, uncovering the absurd and outrageous, from the evil Tooth Fairy, to Sir Bogivere, a vigilant Knight and guardian of an ancient Arthurian lavatory.
