About this deal

I love how the elder cakes have more tiers. How Rude Cake’s companions are a cupcake and a marshmallow. The muted color palette. The cyclops stuffed animal Rude Cake carries that comes into play in a BIG way in the story. And my favorite line? We pushed the boundaries a little further with our Male Torso Cake or Hooters Cake. These two picture-perfect bods are sure to get the This book from Rowboat Watkins is essentially a Manners Book that uses a crazy, out-there theme to deliver it's message in a kid-friendly, non-preachy manner. The sad thing is, this isn't the rudest cake I have been asked to do. Just last week I received a call from someone who was almost too embarrassed to ask for the cake she was after - a certain part of a male's anatomy. We’ve got a bunch of rude gifts for her and him in our collection, for any occasion. Actually maybe not any occasion, we don’t think these will go down too well at 80 th birthdays, funerals or graduations. But if you’re looking for funny rude gifts then you’ve come to the right place. How about a metre long penis pillow, which is so soft and makes the perfect companion for all the singletons out there or for when your partner’s away. We’ve also got stress balls in all sorts of shapes and sizes, rude mugs, jelly sweets and more. Offensive Gifts

Who knew that cakes could be so rude? In this strangely entertaining book, there is a not-so-sweet cake who never says please and thank you, never listens to its parents, and is just downright rude. Don't worry though, this rude cake gets its just desserts when it is snatched from its bedroom and forced to become a hat for a one-eyed monster. Fortunately for the cake, these Cyclops are not rude. But give this one a try. If other books about Manners haven't worked for you, this unusually themed book might. Isn’t Rude Cake (hat) cute?! Especially since it’s no longer so rude. Just ask cupcake and marshmallow. I’ve got a lot of love for this one. It’s a manners book infused with fun and delightfulness and cakes! (And cyclopses!!)There are lots of opportunities to use this book to talk about manners with little ones. Whether the artwork and the use of Cyclopes is going to work for your children you'll have to decide. Generally speaking I liked the artistic style, but I do wish that the cupcakes had appeared more brightly colored.

Would I be happy for my children to see the cake? I have 3 young children and the cakes always spend time on our dining room table before leaving for the customer - This is really my rule of thumb. Funnily enough though, I was ok with them seeing the cake above - we are not prudish about bodies in this house and I felt there was a certain amount of decency about having the marzipan ladies' boobs covered up with stars. One brilliant thing about this picture book (there are many!) is the use of the plural. “Rude cakes” goes the text while we see one particular pink rude cake doing all sorts of bad behaviors, from not saying please to never listening to its parents. It calls a cute marshmallow friend, “clumsy crumb” at one point illustrating just how rude a rude cake can be.

Customer reviews

The art is my favourite part of the whole book. The expressions of the cakes (and other food stuff) are perfection. But I also love the little details that can be found in the illustrations (like the poster in the bedroom). Oh, and now that I read the book, the cover is even better than before I read the book. :) But are they polite enough to listen to a jaunty little hat who finally asks nicely to be returned home, using that magic word, “please”? You’ll have to read the book to find out. Been asked to bake some cupcakes for the next P&C fete? Make these, they won't ask you again - trust me! Our ever popular Pile of Poo Emoji’s always get a giggle and they taste so much better than they look. A poo emoji can say a thousand words
