About this deal

The Nazgul costume, with its dark allure and menacing presence, is a perfect choice for those who revel in the rich lore of "The Lord of the Rings" and enjoy embodying a character that exudes power and mystery. This costume is particularly suited for enthusiasts who appreciate the art of detailed cosplay and the challenge of bringing a non-human character to life. Ideal Candidates for the Nazgul Costume Maintain an air of enigma. The Nazgul are creatures of shadow and secrecy. Be sparing with your words and actions, letting others be drawn into the mystery of your character. Step 4: Wield Your Sword Sparingly

Q: Are there any safety concerns with the costume? A: The robe's length may pose a tripping hazard, so ensure it's hemmed to a safe length. Also, exercise caution with the prop sword in crowded areas. This iconic helmet is a must-have. Look for a dark, metallic helmet with a skull-like design, embodying the terrifying visage of the Witch King. If the helmet has eye slots, accentuate them with red lighting to mimic the Nazgul's fiery gaze. Step 3: The Ringwraith Swordleft) The Kropserkel Nazgûl costume on guard at The Royal Ontario Museum's Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers exhibit (2001). Individuals Comfortable with Concealment: Since the costume covers you entirely, it's ideal for those who prefer anonymity in their cosplay. Move with purpose and gravity. Nazgul are known for their slow, deliberate movements, exuding an aura of dread and inevitability. Step 2: Deep, Menacing Voice Cut the wood for the crossguard into 2 pieces that are 2 inches by 9.5 inches. Also cut two additional filler pieces that are 3.25 inches by 2 inches. Weathered upper leg armour showing all the points of articulation with a multitude of lames both above and below the knee.

Each of these costumes contains 48 meters (or 52.5 yards) of fabric! Mostly silks, since those drape so well. There are 5 seperate layers of costume here. And there were 29 wraith costumes made in total. This photo shows a close-up of the finished sword hilt so you can see all three parts assembled together and finished.

Distressing and Aging Fabric

I loved the way the wraiths entered in Bree - and the wraiths riding together and their costumes flowing like a breath of death!

My husband needed a large sword for his Ringwraith costume, so he created a template to make a sword that matches The Lord of the Rings movie prop. He used the Witch King’s sword for his pattern. This sword pattern could be used to make a sword for any character or costume, so he’s sharing his free printable pattern and how he made his 4-foot sword. Lovers of Unique and Impactful Costumes: The Nazgul stand out in any setting, making this costume perfect for those who want to leave a lasting impression. The Kropserkel scabbard/harness features forged iron rings for tying off the belts and forged metal chapes (tips). The leather is dyed and finished with carvings of Noldor font scripture and symbolism, every one unique. Shown above right is the United Cutlery Sword of the RingWraith that we weathered to look more like the dirtier wraith's weapon. The finish on the production piece is nice, and already artificially weathered looking, but we wanted a more rusty blade, true to the film, and even creepier. I could appreciate that if United Cutlery sold them this way, corroded and dingy, most would probably have been returned by consumers. Styled RingWraith and WitchKing versions of the sword demand unique scabbards also. We've put together correctly dyed leather versions with styled metal chapes (tips) and hand forged iron rings for harnessing the belt. The lengths and points of attachment have enabled a well balanced sheath for wearing these huge swords. Nazgul and Their Steeds: Have friends dress as the eerie, winged beasts that the Nazgul ride in their later appearances. The WitchKing, leader of the nine, wore a variant of the armour that defined his stature. This version of the gauntlets have sweeping hooked gadlings and have 4 metacarpal plates before the wrist (instead of 5). At this point, we were able to identify that the vambraces were 3 articulated plates with a splayed ridge motif, unlike the chevroned vambrace of another. The WK plates feature more dramatic webbing than the other Nazgûl versions.

First, my husband hammered two nails through the end of a board and scraped that across the fabric, snagging it, stretching it, and puncturing it. Then, he went over the fabric a wire brush drill attachment. That actually polished some of the areas and snagged others. Finally, he used a wood file by draping the fabric over wood, then filing along the edge of the wood. This made some larger holes and runs. With all of this distressing, he did more along the edges and less toward the middle because clothes get more worn along the edge that near your torso. Especially if you ride a horse. Or a fell beast. I await the Witch-king in Mordor, and can be drawn out to battle the Enemy. The Lord of the Nazgul/Ringwraiths is my husband! And if you kill him,I shall smite you in return! we are ) too engrossed in thinking of everything as a preparation or training or making one fit -- for what? At any minute it is what we are and are doing, not what we plan to be and do that counts."Q: Can I speak while in costume, or should I stay silent? A: Nazgul are typically silent, but you can use a deep, ominous whisper if needed. Staying mostly silent can add to the mystique. I'll tell you what... I saw this costume at the exhibit, and it's VERY intimidating and ominous! Seriously! They have it in a darkened spot where it leans forward and towers over you! No imagination required. I know he's gonna get me!!
