Seventeenth heaven from the prince with a thousand amazing songs, or rather the artist formerly known as prince with close to a thousand amazing songs at that particular stage in his career. The 90s was a time which saw an even greater avalanche of album activity from him, often of a vault-clearing, totally contract-obliging nature. Even amongst genuine hit-laden, multi-platinum smashes and triple disc statements of artistic freedom, 1995’s The Gold Experience still shines as his most brilliant work for that decade. The Prince Estate/NPG Records, manufactured and distributed by Sony Music Entertainment [...] New York, NY Swimming not too far behind it is Dolphin which is another super playful yet more pointed pop gem that stands out moreso lyrically than for the purest melodic bliss of the song that it is tailing. It broaches furthest on the subject of spirituality, standing up for oneself and defying your oppressors, perhaps even relating to Prince’s own constant struggles with Warner Records. The imagery of becoming a dolphin, running into your adversaries and potentially having your fins cut off is potentially a little weird though. Maybe if Kevin Smith took this as inspiration instead of walruses he would have come up with a less crummier body horror movie and called it Bottlenose. Then the 3rd and perfect album closer in "Gold", is 7 minutes of pure greatness...It was the second single, and in my opinion, it should have faired better....

Hate U was recorded in early 1994. The NPG Operator segues were recorded between September 1993 and March 1994. We March was recorded at some point from May - July 1994, but was re-worked in early-to-mid 1995 when additional work took place on the album. P. Control (initially known as Pussy Control) was the latest recording to be included on the album, recorded in late July 1994.The 1st one in "Shhh" is fantastic, with it's strong Drums, Keyboards, and Guitars (my Wife likes "Tevin Campell's " version better though).... Don't be alarmed, but this version of "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World" is different from the hit a year ago, but I guess he felt obligated to give "Warner" at least this one.....

Rolling still with the "NPG" (Sonny T, Tommy Barbarella, Mr. Hayes, Michael B. and of course Mayte), some people say that this is his best album since "Purple Rain", I say "Sign "O" The Times" (actually his best album)....
