About this deal

The Bear Report– Sophie does not want to do her homework, a research report on polar bears. Bor-ing. They’re big. They eat things. They’re mean. What else is there to say about them anyway? If I were to ONLY AND SOLEY consider the internal, deep down themes and featured lessons of Caron Levis' Ida, Always, I would definitely and with no reservations whatsoever consider it a sweetly gentle, as well as indeed also reassuring and tenderhearted story of how to deal with the impending death of a loved one (basically how Gus the polar bear learns to accept that his polar bear companion Ida is slowly but surely dying and actually equally how Ida also prepares herself for the time when she will no longer be there, when she will no longer be alive). Be sure to read the Author's Note at the beginning of this book to learn about the dangers faced by polar bears from the environment and from man. These beautiful bears are a very vulnerable and threatened species. We advocate for governments to recognize and mitigate the effects of climate change on polar bears.

National Geographic Readers: Polar Bears– With their beautiful white fur and powerful presence, polar bears rule the Arctic. These majestic giants swim from iceberg to iceberg in chilling waters, care for their adorable cubs, and are threatened by global warming. These are just some of the interesting facts that Desmond shares with readers about the life of polar bears. And just as she did with The Blue Whale, Desmond lets the illustrations tell half the story. The mixed-media illustrations are done in combination of paint, crayon, color pencil, in a palette that is more versions of mainly icy blues and winter whites than I would have imagined possible. Ahoy There, Little Polar Bear– Lars is accidentally scooped up in a fishnet and put into a ship. How is he ever going to get home? The theme of The Polar Bear is not only educational with an abundance of facts, but it stresses the theme of empathy for animals. For example, throughout the book it relates the polar bear’s life to a human’s life, and it shows kids how much in common we have with animals.WWF's goal is to ensure that wherever industrial development takes place, it is sustainable and does not damage wildlife populations and ecosystems to any great extent. We offer technical expertise on oil spill prevention and response. We also advocate for the highest development standards through national and international venues. This is a great list to share as a read-aloud or to support learning about these special animals. Fiction Polar Bear Books for Kids I love the language..."Together they stomped and snarled. Their growls turned into howls so loud they filled up the zoo, rising higher than skyscrapers, scaring pigeons, surging toward stars." This tale of acceptance gently highlighting the plight of polar bears in today's changing climate had me enraptured from start to finish. Throughout the Arctic, we convene workshops for people to share their experiences and successes in keeping the peace between people and bears.

Personally, the book was very eye opening. I learned a lot of new things about polar bears and their life styles. Also, being aware of climate change today and its negative effects on polar bears and their environment has made me more sympathetic to environmental issues. That being said, this book really opened my eyes to what polar bears have to go through on a daily basis to survive and the resources they need to survive.
