If you still own one of the aforementioned devices, ITVX will likely not work on them. However, there are other devices you can use to watch ITV’s new streaming app. I own both a smart 4K box and the older Freeview smart box and once you pair the newer remote using the new smart 4K box you can then use the newer remote with the older smart Freeview box if both boxes are setup on the same wifi network if you wish (well it works in my setup if i disconnect the power to my 4K smart box and just use the older Freeview smart box with the newer smart remote). The only part that will stop working, on affected devices, is the broadband-based ITVX app, which is used to stream content. It’s important to note that the linear ITV Freeview/Freesat channels – the ones you’re getting via an aerial (or satellite, on Freesat) – will not be affected by this change.

NOW TV is Sky’s streaming TV service, with separate passes for TV programmes (“Entertainment”), movies, kids and sports. You stream it via the internet, but can still watch on the big screen with supported streaming devices, and you don’t need a long-term contract (see our full NOW TV guide and review). mines is a v box goign to 40" samsung tv and it looks fine granted not hd quilty or upscaled but it certainly doesnt look crap looks better than when on my old 32" sony tv which was a big box of a thing

Otherwise, the main things to watch out for are picture quality and the EPG (electronic programme guide, or more simply, the menu). Tizen is Samsung’s OS for Smart TVs (as well as some other devices from Samsung). It’s being used on newer models as well (2022 models are running Tizen 6.5), but the only affected OS version that will not get ITVX is Tizen 2.3.In theory, some device manufacturers might be able to update their OS in a way that supports the new ITVX app – but since these are older devices, that is unlikely to happen (plus, sometimes the limitation is hardware-based, so software changes won’t be enough). The full version of ITV Hub was never available on Sky Q. ITV was aiming to make ITVX available on Sky Q at launch, it looks like there’s been a delay. You can see who made the changes by going through Admin reporting within the Admin Console and running a User Activity Report. From there, you can identify the specific user who made that change.
