About this deal

Veggiemesh will protect your crops against cabbage root fly, carrot fly, cabbage white butterfly, pea moth, leek moth, cutworm, onion fly, leaf minors and many other insect pests. Veggiemesh will also protect against birds, rabbits, wind and hail. Whatever structure is used to support butterfly netting, it is important to securely peg or weigh down the bottom of the net to ensure that there are no gaps. Veggiemesh® will keep out a wide range of garden pests including cabbage root fly, carrot fly, cabbage white butterfly, pea moth, leek moth, cutworm, onion fly, leaf miners and many species of aphids. If you have flea beetle or whitefly you may need to Veggiemesh® Ultrafine as the holes are smaller. Insect netting is a very fine mesh that prevents insects and butterflies entering, and is suitable for susceptible crops in the brassica family like brussels sprouts, broccoli, and cabbage.

Veggiemesh 'Ultra-Fine' may be secured by burying the edges, weighing down with 'sand bags' or with Tri-Pegs. It is possible to spray aphids off plants with water, but this is not a good option if the infestation has already taken hold, or your vegetables are very young. Veggiemesh 'Ultra Fine' is a very fine mesh netting woven from u.v. stabilised polyethylene. The mesh size is 0.8 x 0.8mm. The netting is very durable with a life expectancy of at least for several years.

Description} Ultra fine Veggiemesh works the same way as standard Veggiemesh but it has smaller holes which means it protects against flea beetle damage. Excellent for screening vents and doors on the greenhouse. I leave it on all the time on the carrots and cabbages. At this stage, I can't imagine how I would grow brassicas with out it. Veggiemesh® is light enough so it can be laid directly over your crops but also works perfectly over any garden hoops and garden cages.

Cover cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, sprouts, turnips, swedes, radish, carrot, parsnip, celery, spinach, parsley, onions, leeks, peas, lettuce and all types of oriental vegetables. Strawberries, raspberries and currantsButterfly netting provides protection for crops often eaten by caterpillars. The mesh size of butterfly netting is too small for butterflies to enter and lay their eggs on the crops. This in itself is not a problem, but when the caterpillars emerge they can devastate a crop. While the adults will not do any damage do vegetables, like cabbages. The larvae of the cabbage white butterfly will feed and damage plants. If left unprotected the cabbage white butterfly can destroy entire brassica yields.

It is possible to see aphid colonies on plants and vegetables. If left unprotected by something such as Veggiemesh®, then aphids can stunt the growth of vegetables and other plants. This Micromesh garden netting is made from ultra fine U.V. stabilised, 90gsm mono-filament woven polyethylene to offer the best insect protection for plants. It keeps the majority of garden pests like carrot flies, flea beetles and aphids out while allowing air and water in. The garden mesh netting has a soft green tint that helps retain warmth and prevents scorching. When left in place for the whole of the growing cycle, the final outcome from using butterfly netting can be a much healthier and larger crop. Veggiemesh will also protect against birds, rabbits, wind and hail. Cover crops as soon as you plant them and leave covered until harvest for bigger better crops free from insect damage. A Seine net can be pulled through the water in the manner of a trawl, however, the micromesh seine net is very popular as a stop net to separate areas of water. Vegetables may be covered all the year round, from planting right up until harvest. If you are growing fruit, just lift the netting during flowering if the crop depends on pollination by bees. I have used this product for a few years now and it is still as good as ever. My garden is in a windy location so I cover most beds with this - hoops to make a sort of a tunnel - in the early months of the growing season. It is a great help to the young plants
