We are providing a service of transforming your clothing into an adult keepsake ( THEY ARE NOT TOYS) Most of my bears are made from clothing once worn by a loved one, who has passed away. Mum’s favourite suit she wore for special occasions or Grandad’s much loved and well-worn cardigan he wore in the garden. These are perfect clothing to be made into a keepsake to have on display, to keep your loved ones memory alive and to pass those memories down the generations.
She was the very first bear I made in 2012 from my lovely mother’s clothes that I had kept in a cupboard for 18 months after she passed away. I spent three days making her then shared her with my friends on Facebook. Everyone loved her and Lily's Love was born! Lilies do not bloom more than once per season, but you can remove the faded flowers so that the plants don’t waste energy makingseeds. Staff seemed to be doing a lot of milling around, they certainly didn't create the atmosphere I was expecting. Infact we felt like a bit of a hindrance when we asked how long the pancakes would be, the lady seemed a little angered that we'd even asked the question. She'd also told my son off for playing with a salt shaker apparently children break them all of the time- we felt like they didn't appreciate the children being there very much, which was frustrating because we always make sure the don't make a mess and we always tidy up after them. We say “true” lilies because there are also plants, such as daylilies, peace lilies, and canna lilies, which have the term “lily” in their common name, but they’re not actually lilies at all. They do not grow from bulbs but are in a different plant genus. Water lilies aren’t lilies at all, and neither are lily-of-the-valley. Easter lilies (Lilium longifolium) are most commonly grown indoors as a holiday plant. As their name suggests, they are typically forced into bloom around Easter, in March or April. Outdoors, they are better suited for warmer regions of North America, where they can be planted in the garden after blooming has finished. These are generally hardy to Zone 5 (and to Zone 4 if given 1 to 2 feet of mulch in autumn for winterprotection). To create a sequence of Lily blooms in your garden, remember that Asiatics generally flower first, followed by Orienpets and then Orientalvarieties.Lilies make wonderful cut flowers. However, avoid cutting off more than a third of the stem. Taking more than that can reduce the plant’s vigor and longevity since the plant needs its foliage to createenergy. When cutting lilies, choose those with buds that are just about to open, with a bit of the flower color showing. The higher-up buds will open as the bottom onesfade. To help prolong the flowers’ life, add cut-flower food to the water. Lilies require only half the amount of food recommended for otherflowers. Keep lilies mulched so that their roots are cool. The mulch should feel moist, but not wet. Read more about mulching. Trumpet lilies ( Lilium sp. - “Trumpet hybrids”) are similar to oriental lilies, producing many blooms with a nice scent. Their flowers tend to be smaller and more closed (like a trumpet) than those of the otherlilies.

If you are growing lilies strictly for cut flowers, consider planting them in a designated cutting garden, where you can plant fresh bulbs eachyear. Oriental lilies ( Lilium sp. - “Oriental hybrids”) have that famously intoxicating fragrance. They are tall and stately (4 feet), and tend to grow more slowly. Oriental hybrids bloom in mid- to late summer, just when Asiatic lilies are beginning to fade. Orientals are always a striking choice, producing masses of huge white, pink, red, or bi-color blooms. They make wonderful cut flowers that will fill even the largest of rooms with their spicyscents. Lilies need lots of sun.For dependable blooms, lilies should get 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight daily (aka “full sun”). If it’s too shady, the stems will attempt to lean toward the sun or get spindly and fallover. Fill the hole with soil and tamp gently. (Got critters? Bury the bulbs in wire cages to protect them from gettingeaten.) Before arranging in a vase, remove the lower leaves on the stems so that no foliage will beunderwater.
